Hey guys been gone a long time but I'm getting ready to buy and restore another conquest and I was searching around the Internet for some ideas to get rid of te flip up headlights and I stumbled across these. Built for the mid 80's 944 (similar body style) and these may work well with some modification and body work....

I know when I was a regular on these forums this was often discussed topic and forgive me if someone had posted these before. Been lurking now and again but haven't followed the forums closely for some time. Lets hear what you guys think....

Btw it's good to see some old names on here. I wish I never sold my 3 quests I've had in the past... Can't wait to find the right car and get started

I know I'm getting a bit ahead of myself since I have not found the right local car yet but my plan is to buy a rollor or something with a blown motor to completely redo. Thankfully I'm in better financial shape now that when I bought my first quest in the mid 90's so it will allow me to do things the way I've always wanted to. The price on them is a little expensive but on the large scale of my plans and budget it's not to bad. On my last build, 95 TA, I almost pulled the trigger on a vette headlight conversion that was $1200. With the body lines on the 944 being similar I thought this may be a practical option. Once I have the right car in my possession and I pull the motor and interior ill get with a body shop for more input. Just throwing out some ideas....

I'm working on offering a conversion soon. The 944 kit is very nice but is completely usless when trying to make it work on our cars. Might as well start from scratch. I will keep you posted when I get closer to offering them.

I ran a custom fixed headlight setup on one of my cars for 3 years. I used aluminum to make the boxes and clear Lexan for the covers, with H4 projectors and H3 driving lights inside. It's not too hard to do if you use fiberglass to make the boxes, aluminum wasn't too hard once the measuring was done.. The lids were copied from the metal light covers, some ppl cut the metal covers and put lexan behind the hole, just another way to do it. They looked just like this with a kink across the middle:

There's a lot of different ways to do it too, with and without a cover, with projectors or just sinking the rectangle light into a non pop-up housing. I will dig mine out and take some pics, the lexan got cloudy and I took them off years ago.

These are fiberglass or plastic, not rocket science here for somebody with the skills.

I see ppl rock these without the covers, looks cool to me with the big notch and sunken rectangle headlights.

I have a set of these on my C5 Vette, much improved over the stock pop-ups in every way. (No, that's not my car haha)
