conquestpa replied to 88TSI_Rob's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Make sure the body of the GM module is grounded!!!!!!! Also, if its a old stock coild consider going to the auto parts store and getting a nice new accell chrome performance coil for about $30.... -
doubtful.

ahh, coolant leak from Magna adapter plate!
conquestpa replied to Jonathan's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Whoops, here's my answer from another thread: You can use the stock gasket where it meets the head. The rear water passage is resized so it has everything the same as the stock intake (atleast on the ones I mod, don't know about the others). The plenum to manifold seal can either be cut, or use some RTV glue (gasket glue). It's just air passing though there, no water/oil so that should be plenty safe, cheap, and easy. -
ahh, coolant leak from Magna adapter plate!
conquestpa replied to Jonathan's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
How come I never got an adaptor plate? I got a unmodded magna intake manifold and Chad moddified it for me. I had it test fitted with a gasket I made up, and ran it, no leaks. But now I have a slight coolant leak coming from the somewhere around the intake. Its very possible that this is leaking from somewhere else weird around there. Im also curious about what type of gasket we would use here if we wanted to buy one. I assume you could buy one for the US style intake manifold and make it work. -
Buy my car.

how about some pics?

Chad modded my manga intake manifold, so far so good. Really great to deal with, he even gave me a 1G DSM BOV and a real nice aluminum t pipe for it as part of the manfold deal. A+, highly skilled and I don't think hes going anywhere any time soon ( he isn't going to disappear on you).

questions on http://www.starquestclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28095 I need to make some fuel lines for my MPI setup. I basically want a line that will go from the stock hard line into a universal fuel filter and then to the that same fitting that goes on into the stock manifold. Any creative cheap ideas? http://2.6liter.com/userfiles/StarPauser/FuelLines.jpg

How does everyone like there Megasquirt?
conquestpa replied to 87quest-TSI's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
The megasquirt is very cool. You'll find out much more about at MSEFI.com and the tech forums. I lurk in those forums frequently from time to time as well. I love it so far. I need to get my clutch in, do some brake and front end work and then I'll be able to start tuning it and get it inspected and back on the road. Im running MS with a Magna modified intake, Ford EDIS ignition. I still have to upgrade my fuel pump and some lines, but Im very happy with it so far. It sounds really mean. I can't wait to get it on the road. For the price its the best standalone money can buy. Its also a great learning expirence.
