zmcreynolds
What kind of #'s is it capable of? Torque ... Mpg ect?Cool swap! stock #'s im going from about 170hp to about 115hp and from 220ft/lbs to about 175ft/lbs, and prolly 35+ mpg. from there its all how much money i put into it(as all ways), but going by team 1000 and there numbers on a 4D55T " We use 25psi-33psi boost in normal race. Max boost during testing conditions on racetrack is 37psi. At 29psi boost it produced over 200hp/295ft lbs torque on the dyno and would guess it make over 250hp and 400ft lbs of torque at 37psi." so with that its all open.im just looking forward to playing around with it and see what happens. Technology
That's probably from the stock, small turbo. If you upgraded a bit, I bet you could get to the 250hp range with less boost.
zmcreynolds
The G54B is out, gonna take some time to clean up the engine bay ( no more wire harness) and then drop in the 56T in about a week.

Frenchi934
so this is mostly a swap for fuel economy?
Komeuppance
35mpg, if that's highway you'd have a range of 700 miles. -Robert
zmcreynolds
so this is mostly a swap for fuel economy? the swap is not for fuel economy, though i have read that some mighty maxs have tuned there 4d55 to 40+mpg. i think i just want to do a swap that has not been done before (i belive) and see what i can get out of it. plus i think its cool
Technology
And over 80 dollars to fill it up.
button
gas/diesel/electric, you have to pay to play.So the 4d56t, is a wideblock only, or did it come in a narrow block varient? Not that that is a killer, Bill makes an adapter kit to make it work in whatever. Frenchi934
Fair enough. Many members have talked about this, but i think itll be cool when you pull this off.
NudeLobster
tech, it's $80 to fill a car up with anything now. Diesel is cheaper here anyway $4.24 for diesel...$4.54 for 87 -Justin
wrngwae
the diesels were only wide blocks. i mated mine to an auto trans which was never an option ever in a diesel. i had to mod the starter and flex plate but it is doable so he can run the 5 speed or auto. i would recommend the auto myself. due to the taller gearing. those diesels do not like RPMS at all. also are you going to source a fuel heater/water separator? also your going to need a starter....the 2.6 will fit but its not gonna turn that beast over....300psi of compression...... Technology
How many PSI does a stock engine have? What's the static compression of that diesel engine?
wrngwae
compression ratio of 21:1..... should be 300 psi...and that head,,,,,,,,has 17 head bolts
