freebird
well, I got this cheap conquest and all these turbo's laying around and a little bit of extra time.Really just want to see which is my favorite for the street. I first made this old car run good. love boost the way it was made to....with a good (95psi max) fuel pump. 89 ecuwastegate held shut as long as possible This is what i ended up with and seemed to max out around 14 psi boost. http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/hp1_zps6ae83f19.jpg Then I honed out a compressor housing for this 14b oil cooled only td05.its the black one in the boxhttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/06h10_zpscff92ff9.jpg now in housing working great.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/14b1_zps1c83c8b1.jpg on the car....and I upgraded the pipes a bit for the 1g bypass valve and went to a 1g mass (not in pic)I absolutely loved this setup for a daily driver this is the turbo set up mitsubishi should have made them, in my opinion.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/recirc_zps06c0c957.jpg Next I wanted to go big.so i installed my t4 turboneticsits split on the hot side so it boosts a little faster than one this same size and not divided.I liked the response, just seemed dangerous for the tbi and oem head and fuel system.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t41_zps1ddeaf50.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t43_zpsa865081e.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t46_zps4aced9b6.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t44_zpsb87cc139.jpg
freebird
Then i went back to the storage and pulled out this. Its a dual ball bearing gt28 garrett turbo..60 a/r on the front.64 a/r on the backI figured it would compare nicely to a oem turbo size just a bit bigger. And well, better with the bearings.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db4_zps43831d01.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db10_zpsc36ba6b4.jpg made a downpipe out of 3.5inch exhuasthttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db1_zps8c8ddd99.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db2_zps0c756c6d.jpg then modified a manifold. The turbo has the t25/t28 footprinthttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db5_zpsde59e39a.jpg then bolted it all on and ended up with thishttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db9_zps2b99ce55.jpghttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db8_zpsdbff90a2.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db7_zps2f536daf.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db3_zpsba229619.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/db6_zps1d8f3e61.jpg
freebird
I think its gonna be very hard for me to remove the dual ball bearing turbo. It spools so fast, and packs such a huge punch. I just could not believe how awesome it performs. As far as the testing goes now, this is the best.Even though some may say its too small of a turbo......Its the best out of my tries of turbo'sThis is my list so far though I dont have all my pics.td05-12atd05-18gtd05-14btd05-19ctd06-17ctd06 t3-19ct40b turboneticsgt28 ball bearing (may be a disco potato?) freebird
PO just couldnt store it anymore and has a busy job.life gets in the way sometimes we all know that.I did save it from the crusher though, and sooooo glad i made it there that day.Worked out really good, but felt like a scrapper. I was in the same town to pick up an engine for my wifes daily driver at a pick n' pull.So I had that in the back of my truck.Got the conquest on the tow dolly and some parts to fill the empty spaces in my truck.I looked like a bum but couldnt be happier....lol

freebird
Miss the GT2871r yet? yes! The 17c has a heavy shaft. Its a noticable thing at idle. But once it gets going. It makes boost for sure...lolAlmost similar to the t4. Very clean interior, I'm stuck with red. Haha If you end up selling the 17c, let me know.Hn I will try to sell a bolt on kit. if you need black interior, I have lots!
hopefull noob
Bolt-on is easier than non! Haha. Definitely count me as interested if you don't mind. But I will be sticking with red for a while, person priority is most anything else before the interior color. It's starting to grow on me, so we will see as the years roll on by. Maybe someday I'll acquire a Fiji/black 89... Hn
freebird
well since I have the t28 off I figured I would clear the air on an arguement about how tiny it is compared to the 16g.As you can see in the pic it is not.And yes this is the big 16g off a dsm.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t1_zpsfc178360.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t2_zps3a008dce.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t3_zpsfd6b529e.jpg now that we all see this lets compare the T25 that most people get mixed up with the t28.......huge difference.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t4_zpsa13f99f7.jpghttp://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t5_zps3da26d1f.jpg and just for giggles 19c,16g dsm, and evo 8 16g. As you can see I like mitsubishi turbo's too. So this isnt a mits. vrs garrett competition.http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t6_zps3cf50249.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/t7_zpsdf1339fa.jpg

freebird
My cousin needed a starquest body to put his engine in,....so we traded cars. I am parting it out its the black 86.I didnt gain anything but more parking at the house. He now has a safe car that he dont have to worry about falling through the floor boards.Makes me feel better about life and i still own too many conquest's......lol So the turbo tester is gone......not dead......but gone I should delete pics, reminds me of good time though....
