  1. That would be great, BC_99. I'd like to make it up this weekend. Either tomorrow or Sunday. NASCAR is 100% Concord this weekend. lol I'm not even going to the race tomorrow night, although I hope to watch it on tv. Message me here, or better yet, text me. Number is 803-431-3420. THANK YOU!
  2. Well, both of my current cars are 86s. I've had both plugs out, somewhat recently, and both had similar gaskets on the flat that mates with the tank. One had goop on it, and the other just had the paper-type gasket. The thread goes all the way to the flat, and there's no groove for an o-ring. Possibly newer models had a different format. Later today, I'm going to try the cork gasket, with Permatex on each side. If that fails, I plan on layering the other material three or four times, with sealant in between.
  3. I'm hoping to find one that someone doesn't need an arm and a leg for. Shipped to 29715, which is just below Charlotte. I've found one or two on eBay, but for a hundred bucks, I'll just take the one out of my parts car. Patience.
  4. Just looking for some input. I've had the plug out, and I've thoroughly cleaned it, and then made a gasket out of a thin gasket material. Can't remember the thickness, but like thin cardboard that is safe to use on fuel applications. Anyhow, it's leaked ever since. I bought some thicker material to us, and it's cork sheeting. Also safe for use with fuel (it claims). I plan on giving the cork a try, as soon as my fuel gage gets lower. Does anyone use anything specific for this? The factory gasket just seemed like black goop. Similar to a mastic.
  5. I've needed to change my passenger side four months. I have one, if I take it out of my other car, but I'd rather just purchase another window, in case I put a decent v-8 in the other car. Anyhow, that dilemma has been my excuse for not doing the job. Plus, I'd like to get some good quality goop to seal it where the manual suggests. So, are there any secrets our short cuts? That's a lot of interior plastic paraphernalia to remove and replace.
  6. Alright, gotta keep this short and quick. Apparently, I bought the wrong darn adapter. Could someone please tell me the correct adapter? Is there one on eBay, or what? Thank you.
  7. I agree with that. The info for install would be so perfect for install. Maybe he's busy, like I usually am. Haha Anyhow, I bought a Mazda TPS, and it's not even close to being correct for this installation. For all I know, I've got the incorrect adaptor set-up? I don't like using an image host, so the only way I know of, to show the items, is posting eBay item numbers. Try that first... Adapter: 291178479766 First TPS: 281537327110 Mazda TPS: 181664332191 Please, SOMEBODY, hehe, steer me in the correct direction. Thank you.
  8. Wow, thanks for that link! I screen saved the entire thing, so I'll have it when the correct TPS gets here. That's going to make the install much quicker. Thank you HUGE. I'll update with results.

  10. Ok, info is valuable. Luckily, I only paid fifteen bucks for that Honda TPS. I ordered one for a Mazda and should have it before October. Thank you greatly for the info. The wire connections will definitely be interesting, but I'll come up with something. The adapter comes with some electrical plug pieces, fortunately. More information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  11. Anyhow, I'm the kind of person who doesn't like doing things over and over. Gotta do all research on my phone, so I bought the adapter and hopefully the correct TPS. Just looking for done verification. Hesitated top post this in Virtual Mechanic. Any knowledge is greatly appreciated.
  12. I need to do something meaningful to avoid all the bs of my slightly worn out TPS. Sick of playing games that I keep losing. Haha So, who has an inventory of adapters that would solve this? Additionally, what car would a perfect TPS come from?
  13. Mine is that, but I don't toy with photo bucket. Actually, mine is a wide body. I don't like to call her fat. Haha
  14. Mine are both 86 wides. The 64 car escorted me through over a decade of this and that, good and bad, but too many SC drivers have either hit it, or opened their doors on it. Plus, it has about 200k more than my 04 car. I'm just curious which is more rare. The 04 car is kinda orange looking, yet not as nice as if it was hemi orange.
  15. I've got one of each. The first one is my good car. I wish it was the other way around. Haha
