not new to the scene just new to the forum

Hello my name is Nathan Vinson, im from keokuk, IA there isnt much of a car scene here except for me and a couple of my friends, at the moment I have a 1987 conquest TSi that i bought for 1400 from a guy in Davenport IA it had some vavle train noise but it wasnt much of a concern tell i started the trip back. but when i got home it got a little worse so i pulled the valve cover off and seen my timing chain is a little loose..... so a small fix. also realized that it doesnt have stock injectors last night so im gonna have to pull them off today and check them out. i do have some interesting things goin on though....

 

 

for example. my wipers are unpluged from under the hood so i plugged them in and they stay on at all times.... lol and my headlight come up fine but if i turn them off they dont go down but the light turn off heres the funny part if i hit the on switch for the light enough to engage it the go down?!?!?!? have no cluse what thats about. also my heat heating/fan gauge stay light on but dont work when the car is not started but when i start the car it doesnt light up and it blows COLD COLD on my feet only?!?!?! like i said have no clue wth is going on.... so help on that would be great.

Hey Nathan, Welcome :)

 

In order to fix the wiper issue.. You likely need to replace the ETACS module underneath the drivers seat. From what I understand, if a battery is hooked up backwards, the ETACS unit is usually fried. I had this issue on a car of mine once when I got it, and a new ETACS took care of it :) Also, you just likely need to clean the contact point of your headlight switch.

thank you very much guys!!! im glad to be back in the scene. i had a red 88 shp and i sold it bc i was well..... stupid and every car i have has so far is not the same as a quest!!! :D but this time im gonna do it right. right now i have the vaLVE COVER OFF BECAUSE I HAD SOME VALVE TRAIN NOISE AND COME OT FIND OUT IT SEEM LIKE MY TIMING CHAIN IS A BIT LOOSE..... so ill be checking into that!!!! but over all the car has 0 NO rust but has very small body flaws :D im planning on running the g54 for a while but im gonna be looking into a 4g64 swap.....
