Preludedude
So I'm not meticulous and I've read about the tiny springs/parts involved...Anyone here willing to repair/clean my switches if I mail them? Of course a paid job... I tried looking at the walk through on the Starquest repair FAQ page but the pictures are gone so it doesn't help me... speedyquest
I'm sure you could do it. I just did mine and it wasn't difficult. If your really not interested in doing it I'd do for ya. But it would cost you nothing to tackle it yourself. speedyquest
Mine were stuck in the on position. After taking them apart it was the spring that is meant to reset the circuit. The grease was hard just like the how to you read.
TexasQuest
Owning these cars requires diving in on these type of things quite frequently yourself. Don't be afraid. You'd be surprised how easy things like this can be doing it yourself.

Turbo Cary
I just did this a week or two back. Its really easy. First off be careful with the plastic. These things are old and fragile. Basically take off the gauge hood to access the switch. Undo the screws on the back of the hood to take the switch off There are small tabs that keep the back of the switch in place. Slowly release them all and the switch should separate. There is a spring inside so make sure you don't Lose it. Use some alchohol and q tips to remove the old gunky grease. Use a file or small wire brush to clean the contacts Then if you want use some electric grease (the clear/white color grease you use on plug wires) in small amounts to lube the contacts Reassemble and your good to go. My switch would jam up and not work 100% before but now it clicks on and off with ease.

Preludedude
well I just tackled this job, it was pretty easy....just tiny parts....I used alcohol to clean the springs and connectors, then used some dielectric grease to keep em clean... put back together, and headlight switch now work and click on and off with ease.... not too bad....
