My old black car: tbi, stock block, 14b@15psi, street tires went 9.10 with a 2.1 60ft. Yours has a lot left in it.

Well, Im not sure where Ill find the excess...Scott has it dialed in pretty well with the Megasquirt...maybe its a driver issue... :(

Curious, what CD did you put in between you 1-2 shift? Hahahaha Hope it was a good one!

I believe I see your problem.

Yep. I'm not shifting as efficiently as I could...practice makes perfect.  I need to get more passes made and get a good feel for the car....and then, I'll get with Scott about launch control on this Megasquirt....

in my old 87 the best time i ever ran was a 13.89 and then i sold it to slowquest and he ran a 12.73.....the a-hole. :D

i bought my 84 from keith and the last time he drove it was at the track and ran a 16.83 and i take it to the track after giving it a major tune up, porting the turbo and exhaust mani, and gutting the pre-cat and i ran a 17.34.....lol.

so yes the driver makes a big difference.

I got into the 8's with a similar setup engine wise. 8.1 JE's , Stock njv head small 16g@ 18lbs, 1gmas, modded factory downpipe to straight pipe exiting under car. 89 ecu.  It was several years ago but I was pretty stoked.

Have you datalog your runs?
I always take the runs and overlay them. Compare PB to most recent. You can see how much time left in in the gear change and what rpms your turning at each gear change. It gives you another datapoint to consider.

I do log them, and send to Scott and let him scope them over. I havent ever looked at the logs myself. PM me and give me a brief rundown how you read them and overlay to compare logs.

^^Flat foot shifting saves a ton of time. I mean a TON. With a smaller turbo it'll be less noticeable but looking at my datalogs, using flat shifting saves .4s between shifts as the power never really dips. It's hard on a LOT of equipment, but it isn't my daily driver...I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

'89 Starion SHP...FIP MPI, 3" Exhaust, TEP Cam, Turbonetics 11021-BB T3/T4 Turbo, Treadstone Manifold, 75# injectors, Mookeeh Sway Bars, GC Coilovers, Saleen Replica Wheels, the list goes on...AND IT FINALLY RUNS!!!

If you don't have megalogviewer download it here:  http://www.tunerstud...p/megalogviewer.  The full release is well worth the price but even if you only get the free version it can do a lot for you.
