Looking for a trans pan for an 89.  My 87 pan is bent and leaking.

Make one.  You have your old pan for a bolt hole template.  Get a thick piece of flat stock from your local metal supplier.  Then use RTV instead of a gasket.

I will if nobody has a waffle one available.  No way I'm paying 100$+ for a plate someone put a couple holes in.

What strain is on a trans pan?   Why is it relevant if one is “stronger” than another?    Serious question here.

What impact does a pan have?

There's a good reason modern manual transmissions don't have large removable pans anymore. No matter how strong the pan is or how tight you bolt it on, the big hole in the case makes the whole design weaker and allows it to flex more, which contributes to the shafts/gears spreading under load and causing damage. Mitsubishi knew about this when they made the 88-89 plate stronger as a band-aid, but the real fix is a design like a T56 where the case is one solid piece that slides over the shafts/gears and bolts onto the front plate.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Understood, but if it's overpriced, it's overpriced.

Who says it has to be aluminum?  1/4" steel would be stronger and cheaper.  And only a little heavier but not enough to matter.

Oh it's 8.5" x8.5". Not 8x8 as I previously stated.

Steel is fine.  I don't care much about the weight
