Hi all, I've been into these cars for some time, and finally pulled the trigger on a red 87 Conquest about 4 weeks ago. I feel I may have overpayed somewhat, but I'm excited to have the car nontheless. Mine is intercooled and someone has done some kind of modification to the car, although I am unfortunately not a good enough mechanic to figure out exactly what. The car does have a few problems - it has a funky issue with the turbo where it occassionally cuts off at around 3500 RPM when you're dogging the car pretty hard. Haven't figured that one out, but I suspect its a bad secondary injector connection. I bought the car in Georgia, then after giving it a run through, promptly drove it 1100 miles to Austin TX. Today, while changing out the battery terminals, I had the misfortune of shorting out the 1 fuse, so tomorrow I will be trying to fix that. A little about me/my mechanical background: I am a recent graduate of the University of Georgia, my first car was a daily driver 1967 Dodge Dart which I still own, and I have a nasty habit of starting project cars, getting them to "driver" status, and prematurely entering the "maintenance" stage. My father is the senior mechanic of our team, so I've been learning the ropes for as long as I can remember. I'd love to meet up with some other members of this forum around Austin, as I am a bit lost with the Conquest - its not as simple or familiar as my Dart (at least, not yet)! I'm looking forward to drawing on your collective expertice and hope to have my Quest as cherry as some of yours. Attached are a few photos of my cars. Tom
