  1. I haven't really done anything with it yet, just using the default 4 dashboards... Once I detected the bluetooth adapter, it allowed me to do what you've seen in the video, I haven't tried any modifications to them yet. Skillz, this is a 7" Acer Nexus 7, 16gb tablet. Got one real cheap on Amazon, and only went with the 16gb since it is really only being used for the car.
  2. Its Shadow Dash MS... Specific for Megasquirt ECU's. I'll have to take a look at torque though. Is that only for OBD2?
  3. Pretty much finished trimming out the interior today... got the shifter housing fitted, mounted, and even the lighted gear indicator working properly. The leather boot finished it up nice. Had to dice up the center console to fit, but it's close. The power mirror switch is still in its stock location. Good thing I went with manual seat belts - that would have made it even trickier. A little more fine detail work, but the general concept is done. I like it - it feels perfect too, the height, location, everything. Really diggin' it. http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/interior1.jpg http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/interior2.jpg Here's the dash... using an Android tablet with a bluetooth adapter from the megasquirt ECU. I will work on a more custom dash later, but for now, the suction cup mount is going to have to do. I will make a full fiberglass molded one some year, but need to research and learn all about that stuff first.
  4. Getting closer... sorry for falling off the face of the planet. Have a new baby boy (my first) and he just turned 6 months old... so the past 6 months have been pretty insane. But now he is becoming a little more self entertaining, and my schedule is starting to get back to somewhat normal, so I can sneak out to the garage from time to time. Anyhow, here is from today... resolved some ignition issues, and it's running quite nicely now. Pulls in and out of the garage without any problems. Just need to figure out something for the torsion bar mounts on the front suspension, but will get to that soon enough. Oh, and Bill... idling for about 30 minutes in 97 degree Texas heat, and it got to about 195 without a thermostat in it... so yeah, either the fan is not enough, or the radiator isn't flowing, or the overall cooling just needs to be looked at more http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trNXb7Asn1M
  5. Just got it up to operating temps (not currently running a thermostat), and it got about 150 and stayed there... but it hasn't done much more than idle at this point. Whatcha got in the works Bill?
  6. Hey all - sorry for no updates, got a little busy with my son being born just before Christmas. So everything took a bit of a back seat for the past few months. But back at it now, sent the injectors out for cleaning and testing - they were pretty bad, around 65-70% capacity with crappy spray patterns. Much better now after refurbishing. Got them re-installed and fired her up again for the first time in months. Purring nicely most of the time but has an occasional pop/backfire - not sure why, probably timing related. Having my fabricator make up some brackets for me so I can get the tie rods fastened up. Hopefully that will be done this week and I can start buttoning up the rest of it, get it on a trailer, and bring it to go get tuned. Still tons to do inside such as all the gauges, trimming out the shifter, and all that fun stuff - but nothing that would keep me from getting a tune on it. Before the baby came, it did come out of the garage and back in under its own power, so the transmission and the bell housing that Bill made worked flawlessly! Starter engaged and disengaged with no issues at all and turns the engine over very easily. Bill's work is incredible. More updates to come soon. I've even put the rest of the body back together... header panel, grill, just need to get the cowl hood painted and back on, and it's done from that perspective.
  7. Running better now... exhaust is on and idling nicely. Transmission is working nicely too, goes through the gears great and I can watch the wheels finally spin on their own Just need to address an oil leak on the drivers side turbo return line and dial in the tune under a little load, and should be ready to pull out of the garage and see the light of day for the first time in over two years. hehe
  8. Resolved - bad injector clip on #6... no more backfiring at all, purs on idle. Woohoo!
  9. Would love to get in that area... if its a 4 bolt block, I've been told that's certainly not a problem. If it's a 2 bolt block, then about 650 is max. Only way to tell for sure is pull the oil pan - but have some feelers out too, to see if the previous builder would know. Anyways, it's idling nice now, but getting backfiring from the drivers side only. Thought it was timing related, but then was feeling the exhaust and noticed that passenger side was nice and smooth, but drivers side was rougher - felt like it had a miss, and would backfire. Pulled the plugs, first two were blackened as expected, but last one by firewall, looks brand new - like it was just taken out of the box. Tested the wire to the shock tower bolt, and it is definitely getting good spark. So my guess is that the injector is not working on that one Would a dead injector cause occasional backfire?
  10. Steve's moved to a different area, not sure where, but a ways from where I am now. There's a guy close by but he's a Corvette guy mainly - may just go to T1 Racing out by Joe - we've seen their results. Oh - thanks to Gofastredstar, got the exhaust mounted up last night. I love the view from behind. ;-) http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/backside.jpg
  11. Definitely will be dyno tuning - probably have someone do it professionally if I have the funds available. I'll get it close, but then bring it in for the final dialed in tune. But the guy that gave me that reference timing table is making 883 AWHP, so I feel pretty confident in it as a starting point! LOL In that table, 250kpa is right about 20psi, and 100kpa is atmosphere, and I tried to just even it out in between. So thinking around 12 lbs of boost at 5000 rpms will be somewhere around 8 degrees or so. But I am like you... not by any stretch an expert in 6G72 motors, so really will need to find someone who is. Can't wait to see what it can do though. Getting closer and closer each week.
  12. Actually hadn't done anything on timing table except for idling up til now. Someone over at the 3si forums saw that too He gave me a great table as reference so I made the below changes... should be safe starting point: http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/Tunerstudios_Ignition.jpg
  13. Thanks, getting pretty excited of the progress and can't wait to get the exhaust mounted up - this thing is way too loud with just downpipes. lol Upgraded the MS2 to the latest firmware yesterday, and I guess megatune is now no longer supported and need to use Tuner Studios solely... so redid everything in that and hopefully will be on the road to a fully running vehicle shortly. Tuner Studios has a VE Analyze Live option, and apparently with a wideband and that, it can pretty much automatically dial in your fuel VE tune within 5 or 10 minutes of running.... so for basic idling and driveability, that'll probably work out well. But for under boost conditions, we will definitely be going on the dyno for proper tuning. Here are the new tables - everything set to speed density again too: Fuel VE Table: http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/Tunerstudios-VE.jpg Timing Table: http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/Tunerstudios-Timing.jpg AFR Table: http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10156/Tunerstudios-AFR.jpg
  14. Not sure actually - I can get some measurements for you, outer diameters and what not. That was done prior to me purchasing the project.
