G'day,

I have on offer the final stage Magna 4G54 Head M9 with the Kidney chambers.

It is fully reconditioned with valves & springs...

Apparently it has been discussed before on this forum regarding flow rates etc. but as I'm new

I haven't come across it. I believe it's great for low down response!

I have already sent one unit to a member from this forum so if someone else is interested please let me know.

Price is US$400 including shipping from Oz with insurance. Paypal extra.

just so everyone knows there is a difference in this

heads water ports compared to our stock heads.

the rear port is larger, same size as the front port on

our heads.

maybe Mal can get some intake gaskets to ship with the heads.

i know i would like 2 for sure.

yes but the size is the only difference and has to be addressed or the water will come out of second port.

the stock gasket for our car only covers part and not all of the port. the top 1/4 inch is open and will leak.

i had my head i got from him, water port, welded shut a little so stock gasket would work. i had to have it done

i cannot weld aluminum. and do not have the resources to do it myself.

Basically it fits fine no issues just the water port is way larger and needs to be modded or a plate or shim needs to be used.

Yes probably good to use conquest or starion springs and valves. Or upgrade them.

Adapter plate.

Magna on top stock bottom gasket difference.

This is the only inlet gasket I could find on line. Otherwise an entire VRS kit would need to be bought.

It should be noted that the 'kidney' shape head is hard to obtain as the TS Magna came with both types M8/9.

Not many people would go the expense these days to repair a 20 year old sedan so some repair shops have surplus stock

to simply get rid of. Also, I thought both inlet and exhaust valves were an extra 1mm larger. But don't quote me on that!

I will advise when I get my hands on another.

Last one I see... Should be an easy cutout with some good gasket material. Yes its a pita but if that's all there is left. Edited by 87redcat

Just get some gasket paper and trace it out. I even had to free draw that gasket and make it for a member on here who has an Aussie head that he was pairing with a starquest intake.

What about the exhaust valves? The N/A exhaust valves are different from the turbo exhaust valves. What valves will come with the head your offering?

From everything I've ever read, I can't find any proof that the n/a and turbo motors got different vales. Even when you try to buy valves, they list the same exact valves for both.

looks like the M9 head water ports would line up perfectly with an UN modded magna intake.

Wait, so a head off a Mitsu Magna will pair with an intake off a Mitsu Magna... I would have never thought, lolz sorry.

Just to clarify the deal here....US$400 including shipping.

Shipping is via Sea Mail which is 8 -12 weeks with full insurance.

This is a fairly heavy item that costs a bit to ship from the other side of the world!

Much to my surprise tracking in not available as an option so after the 12 week period

and 'if' item is not received, then we have grounds for claim. This may be tricky with Paypal payment

so it will need to be well documented for what's on offer. Express Post with tracking is an extra US$75

which eliminates all the concerns.

However, I reckon Sea Mail is value for money for heavy objects & when you don't need an item asap!

Cheers, Mal

I have reserved another 2x M9 Heads with inlet gaskets. Last few left recoed in the country!

Please send PM or express interest in this post.

I will investigate the exhaust valves and whether they are fine for a turbo application.

I'm pretty sure they are oversized .5 to 1mm.

Apart from being a good quality Mitsubishi casting, the flow rate is superior over the Starion/Conquest head.

More info as it comes to hand...
