So what's your impression of the manual rack now that you have driven it a few times?

Put simply, its amazing. I would gladly do it to any other car I owned that I intended to drive in a spirited way. You have so much more road and tire feel. And if you do it correctly the difficulty of turning the wheels when you aren't moving much is very low. Really no downsides. The car is lighter, mechanically more simple, and in my opinion feels better.

1987 Flatty Starion -- Widebody Conversion -- V-Mount Setup --  JDL Tubular Manifold  --  MX-6 Intake -- MS3-Pro -- AEM FPR  --  ARP head studs -- 3" hood exit exhaust -- Hahn Racecraft 16g --  Tial F38 Wastegate -- Tial Q Bov -- Short route piping -- 5 lug & LSD conversion -- Tubular Front End -- Manual Steering Rack Conversion -- Manual Brake Conversion -- Stack Digital Dash -- AEM UEGO -- D2 coilovers -- full GNT poly bushings & mounts -- four 8" rears -- car lightened significantly...  More to come!

Did you run a manual gearbox on the car before this setup? I'm referring to the d50 parts that swap into our cars. Also what size is that steering wheel? They come in different diameters.

No I had never ran a d50 manual box before, I never went down that road because frankly it just didn't seem worth it. Moving to a steering rack has all kinds of benefits that I wanted. As for the diameter of the wheel, that is a good question, but I know its smaller than the stock one. I'll measure it and let you know.

It looks alright..  I checked out that pic for a long time before I realized it was a flatty.

That bumper is probably only available overseas and probably wasn't made in volume

EDIT: Googled and found Coltspeed site:
