Yessir! SW20, 94 Turbo in Rare Dark Emerald Pearl. this is my second MR2. I owned a 93 turbo about 10 years ago and loved every second of it. I'm amazed it took me so long to come back to them. I'm really surpsied to find that nothings changed and the scene is stronger than ever... To my amazement so is the parts and service support. If you can find one... I'd highly recommend it =)

I rode in a guy's whom I work with once. He had the generation before yours, kinda boxy. It did scoot around corners pretty good.

Dartomotive: Sounds like you rode in a first gen (AW11) MR2. I think those cars actually have more Lotus engineering heritage then the turbo SW20's do. I love those little boxy things, but the later gen, turbo cars outclassed them on almost every level. It's sad that the 3rd generation MR2 'Spyders' took the entire blood-line in the opposite direction and basically turned them in to mid-engined Miatas. Horrible looking mid-engined Miatas I might add.

sayaovang dsm: Your uncle is right. The 94+ cars had some significant improvements to the steering and suspension geometry to eliminate snap-over steer and in general make the MR2 a bit more friendly to drive. They made slightly more HP (245hp in stock trim) along with some subtle styling changes, (circular tail-lights, etc...) All of that made them desirable. While they continued to produce and sell the SW20 MR2 throughout Asia and Europe up through 1999, the stopped selling them in the US in 95. So the total production run of 94-95 USDM SW20 MR2's is somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 units. Add the Emerald Pearl paintcode with tan leather combo and I'd have to guess 30, maybe 40 MR2's in this configuration made it to the states? It's a rare bird indeed.

I'm just glad that I came to my senses and 10 years after owning my first one went back and bought another :-)
