I was out putting miles on the new motor, running the cruise control for about 45 min no issues, then it just kicked off. I hit resume and no issues again for 30 min,,,then it kicked off again. has anyone run into this before.
Forged motor, weisco pistons ,3" exhaust, garret 60 cold/ 70 hot turbo, bosch 1000cc injectors. meth kit. chads intake and header. holly EFI stand alone. *DM intercooler. grimspeed boost controler. stock cam.

It may have a timer on it.  Sort of a wake up timer to prevent dozing off.

Sounds like the vacuum pump is kicking off at some point.

Seeing this thread reminds me, I rebuilt mine during my restoration, but it doesn't work.  I need to take a look at it and get mine working.

A timer...I realize theses were cutting edge back then, I guess that could be a legitimate reason. I will test it some more, its been awhile since I used it. the vac pump sound legit as well...didn't know if this was common, thanks.

I bought a 30000 mile 89 Conquest in 94 and drove it as a daily until the end of 1997. I used the cruise control numerous times, and I don't recall it ever timing out.

I drove mine cross country and never had it time out either. I was amazed on one highway in Texas, I locked it in at 120 mph. My buddy's Plymouth Lazer would max out at 95.

I'd check the brake and clutch switches, if it doesn't take much to trip them a bump in the road could cancel the cruise.
