Ordered Friday the 22nd, and it went into production today. She should have it in two weeks. I, on the other hand, ordered my damn M3 on April 29th and it isn't even in production yet. This is ridiculous. Anyway, this one isn't her's, just a few pics to show what it'll look like. Mineral White, M-Sport, Premium Pkg, Driver Assistance Pkg, HUD, Surround View, Leather dash, Ceramic Controls, etc, etc. It's nice having her back at work, lol.

Safety while doing burnouts!

Lol, well this one is rear wheel drive with factory launch control, so perhaps. They'll actually both have HUD's and launch control, but I will embarrass my wife if she ever tries to hang with me at an intersection in the M3 or the Conquest.

daughter in law and princess first son, like you don't already know that. amy may smoke you off the line.

Haha, she might if I'm not paying attention. My M3 will be over 2 seconds faster 0-60 than her X5, lol. Now, in the Conquest, you may be right. I might need to go from a roll to take her in that thing. It lacks low end grunt with the current cam. It really does come down to safety features at this point, at least for her car. I know of a Hornet pilot who ran over and killed his own daughter in their driveway. I mean can you even imagine? I'd be done. Surround View gives you a full 360 degree top down view around the vehicle in both of our cars now. The safety feature list goes on. Amelia's seat is a full 18 inches from the side of the vehicle in the X5 and her car seat has its own side impact protection on top of the side airbags. We've personally witnessed accidents the last two times we went to the nearest "city" and in both cases there was nothing the person being hit could have done differently. The only thing I can "do differently" is spend a little extra to put my family in a car that consistently ranks as "quite possibly the safest car ever made". I feel like it was one of the main reasons I worked for a pension at age 39, to be in a position to do just that. Doesn't hurt that it scoots and looks cool. ^_^

Can i be your kid?

Ha! We're not quite ready to adopt to get number 2 yet, but I'll let you know.

I was in an older X5 and the doors were very solid. There appears to be a much heavier gauge of steel used in that X5 I was in.

There was a tv show that showed a diplomat's

BMW getting hit in the hood by a RPG and it kept running.

Neat. The 2015 X5 hood is aluminum. I guess you don't squeak 27mpg out of a vehicle this size without trimming the fat.

As usual I can't leave anything alone, so the solid plastic grill inserts had to go. They're not open and therefore not functional and they looked kind of dumb. I replaced them with the M50d Euro style inserts. Feels crazy ripping into the bumper cover and fender liner on a brand new car but these things are very easy to work on, at least for body stuff. Knocked this out the weekend we got the car home.

Wow looks a lot nicer Chip!

Thanks, man. Wish I could bring myself to pull the trigger on the M performance front splitter, too, but it's spendy. Looks like this. Pretty
