Minagera
<Rant>Today I was using my phone as I normally do every, and I admit I am a heavy data user. I noticed that my phone was having trouble pulling pages, Samsung Nexus S on AT&T Unlimited Data (true unlimited or so I thought). Well I did a couple speed tests and *#*#4636#*#* to do some testing, low and behold I am being throttle to edge speed. Therefore, I talk to AT&T about this problem, long story short they stated I was in the top 3% of data users in my region and would now be throttle until the end of my billing cycle (March 1). So I used 5.8GB of data this month, 252MB\day, 23.3KB\sec. Apparently, the contract I signed 2.5 years ago with a no holds bar unlimited data plan can be amended without my consent.<End Rant>
riceboyler
Unfortunately, yes it can. It's in all that nasty fine print you never read. Kinda scary to think that only 5.8G will put you in their Top 3. And it really sucks that they throttle you down to Edge with no notification. I'm not sure what it's like where you work, but I barely ever break 500M with my plan because I'm always connected to WiFi unless I'm driving. Are you tethering? Minagera
Well they first told me there is no such thing as an unlimited plan. I told them to check the details of my plan after that comment. Nah that is straight up phone usage.
