Fanta Posted June 19, 2008 Report Share Posted June 19, 2008 I was driving down a straight away and was at a light, with my friend riding shotgun, and this Honda Fit pulls up alongside of us. Fully loaded with people too. They kept eyeing me and my friend and revved at us, and my friend turns to me and goes you should race him. I was laughing ( seriously ) and told him I would murder that car. He's response? " EXACTLY! SHOW THEM NO MERCY!!!! IT'D BE AWESOME!". Eh, so why not? I gave a slight rev up back and just waited for the intersection lights to go yellow. Shifted my short shifter into 2nd and then 1st, making a loud kaCHUCK! ( a lot like the sound of a gun being cocked and loaded ) - light went green and I just eased into the gas ( the Fit launched at like 5k... well... if you could call it a launch ). My Starion got underway with the clutch out and my friend was going COME ON! So I punched it. The 12a spooled to 10psi instantly and the car came to life. Tires burning, exhaust screaming, and we blow past the Fit. Slammed it into 2nd, chirping the tires nicely, and just kept pulling. Shifted into 3rd and shut it down and cruised to the next light. The Fit pulls up next to us and the driver is just looking dead ahead, all the other passengers were just laughing at him and giving us the thumbs up. I love this car! I'm tempted on buying a slightly used 07. I've found one for about $12k - which isn't bad at all for the year and mileage. It perfectly explains my sentiment so often I just knew it was out there. If he raised his eyebrows at first, and then looked down while shaking his head a bit more slowly it would be perfect. Yes they dont have the most h.p. yes im sure my starion will eat it for breackfast.. But fit is an unusual honda motor, almost has a flat torque curve, might only be 11 inch lbs but its flat, and an evtec motor.. for 109hp itlll bark second pretty good and climb hills quite well. and i dont know if it pull a 9 second 0-60 but they ran the slolom faster than a z06 vette and can pull more g's in a turn than a BMW m3... now if it had 220hp! like my old handa! that would be a car.... oh and they top out @ 114 but i was a lil nervous @ 90 lol.... 38.8 mpg mixid city with a/c on and some spirited driving.....
