  1. The air dam has a small crack but not all the way though. I have filled behind the crack with epoxy and has not gotten any work. I will fuzar the crack when painted.
  2. This is my third and by far the nicest. I have all the pieces for the steering column. Including the ignition switch. When I got car had no keys and someone tried to start with screw driver. I removed electrical part and removed lock from switch. I have been driving this way. I have covers ( undamaged) and new switch. I had new key made for door and trunk. Prolly will not rekey ignition. Just use key that came with it. I got some other stuff going on. I would sell it if price was right. To be honest I would have to look at the 5g. Car runs and drives like new. I sit in 5 oclock hell in it with no problems with ac cranked up. I like to drive it and I have taken it to the dragon and had a lil fun, LSD works great. Keep in mind Im 41 and dont act an tail too often. The car has not been abused. and sit since 1995 before I got it. I fixed everything to take back to stock. I havent put ignition switch in yet but I will. Everything electrical on car works like new. Even alarm. I removed egr because it was leaking I have deleted the entire system. removed the cat. put in a different but factory radio. cleaned window switches. lubricated run channels. serviced all fluids, including lsd using factory diaqueen. new brakes all around. Cleaned air ducts in heat/ac unit. I even had a guy offer me a few acres of land in middle tn for it. I bought a rotary lift and I would like to expand my garage at home is the only reason I have considered to sell.
  3. I havent really come up with a definate asking price. Its hard to put a price on a car like this I think. I know alot of experts on this site and I know I will get lowballed alot. If someone wants it shoot me an offer. I have thick skin. Like I said Its just a thought at this point. I love this car. And everywhere I drive it seems everyone else loves it too. I am master tech and I would drive this car to cali look at the ocean and turn around and drive home with no issues. The seat leather is the worst thing and its not too too bad. but its far from what I consider a nice interior. If I needed to sell it I would just throw it on ebay. Someone who is a enthusiest deservse this car. I have a 1g maf, safc2, an injectors. I just couldnt bring myself to do it. Its runs too good right now and if not messed with will for many more miles.
  4. Pics do not show new tires. Have Hancooks all around on shp wheels 8 an 9's. Thanks
  5. I am thinking of selling my 89. No issues, AC works, 85k original miles. Serviced at Dealership where I work. I only used diaqueen fluids. Recently I had the crank pully to come apart. I replaced with an unorthidox underdrive, Replaced all the belts with the sizes they recommended. I also put a blitz blow off valve on car. The rear dampers took a dump. I still have the shp dampers, I replaced them with the mooki rears. They have been great, I have bran new Hancook tires all around. Cat has been removed still factory exhaust otherwize. I have an extra tranny. When I got car thought tranny was bad and found one before I took apart. I bought it and it ended up being the bushing and I replaced it. Polished lips on the wheels. I started on the middle, its quite time consuming. The car is very nice. I have fixed everything that has broken. I have been looking for new front seats. If I keep it I will probably recover.I can have car painted for purchaser as well. Paint is ok. Faded, chipped, cracked. a few digs. One of my best friends has a body shop. For the right price I will have car painted and all body dings fixed.NO BONDO. I have some projects going on and a few other things I could really use the money right now. I am not going to give the car away so please be respectful, I am not a basehead needing a few dollars. With that said if you think you might be interested in owning my quest please get in touch. Text will get a faster response, bs will not be acknowledged. 865-660-0194 http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-06-03130955.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-06-03130945.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-05-25200810.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-05-25200801.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-05-25200733.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-05-25200722.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/2012-06-07172858.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/Facebook/89%20Conquest%20TSI%20SHP%20My%20new%20toy/398907_3765307497056_504596064_n.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/Facebook/89%20Conquest%20TSI%20SHP%20My%20new%20toy/578850_3765721827414_891002224_n.jpg
  6. How come I can not comment on posts in advanced virtual mechanic. For instance I was gonna post on a vibration under load issue. Nobody commented that It might be a u joint or an axle cup with a divit. Just Curious.
  7. Price? My passenger is good. Driver is not. I am willing to pay freight on seats.
  8. looking for a good set of tan front seats. from a 89 preferably . let me know. thanks, todd
  9. I am interested in the front tan seats. Are they in good shape? Any chance you can send a pic? Thanks Todd
  10. I will come after it. Can you meet me with near a interstate exit? Wont be able make to the trip till next weekend at the soonest.
  11. I am interested in that tranny. Charlotte is not far from me at all. What would you want for it? Do I have to drop it? If so no big deal just let me know. Thanks

  13. Thanks for info. Already drained gas before even started. Tank is not rusty. Replaced filter. Fuel at throttle body is clean and clear. The tranny issue is bugging me. Doesnt feel like it is an internal problem, but I am sure that it is. Went to store in the quest this morning went into gear almost every time. I am wondering if the shift fork is not bent slightly. I have been trying to buy a tranny this week for parts with no avail. I hate to pull it apart without parts to fix. Not too sure about part availability. I have a 1g maf sensor and another secondary injector from when I helped my buddy out on his quest a few years ago. I want to get everything working to factory spec before starting ugrades. I bought a manifold flange gasket earlier in the week. I dropped it off at the local tech school and I will get one of the kids to machine an exhaust manifold flange out of stainless for a grade for them and free for me. I plan to fab up a new turbo manifold. I can weld pretty good so really not a big deal for me. Like i said I will bring the car to factory specs before doing any upgrades. The car runs great. Everything works. except for the first gear issue. I am going to pull tranny next weekend and bust it open to see whats gong on. Here is a pic of my quest.http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x312/agent5568/1211110747.jpg
  14. IN my opinion I would set the gap on the plugs to .028. WIth the upgraded turbo you are prolly blowing the spark out or just leaning out. You said you had a bung welded in for a wide band. A fuel pressure gauge. The problem you described you are loosing spark or fuel. I had an issue once with a soft set connector on the secondary injector causing intermittant problems in boost. With the tools you already have you should be able to diagnose the problem pretty easily and stop throwing parts at it. Hookup wideband, and fuel pressure gauge. When vehicle starts to break up, notice the data. If widebands going lean and fuel pressure is stable then you know you are running out of fuel. If when breaking up the wideband goes rich you are loosing ignition. Hope this helps.
