To anyone interested, rebuilding these transmissions very stout will run you only about $225 in parts. Thats with HD clutches and Kevlar bands. The procedure is pretty straight forward too. just a lil FYI

I would love to have this car and it is a pain to get one this clean. I have an 88 durban maroon auto in my garage right now. Besides for the transmission is not any good and the cheapest place I found to rebuild one is $800. Is there a good step by step manual that is descriptive to rebuild these autos? Please don't tell me the FSM. That and while I was looking for the rebuild parts, I found rebuild kits for around $160, but the bands are $50 for a set and I believe I was quoted clutches at $8 a piece. I don't know how many clutches the trans has, but I thought it was more than two. If I sell my th350 and 350 motor, then I will definitely consider this car. I just don't have $4k at the moment. I am definitely not saying that it isn't worth it. Is there any chance you would take mostly cash+partial trade? I have some parts that are worth a bit, but I don't want to sell them one by one to try and get the money? Was the engine a stock rebuild?
