Bag-O-Chips
After a long battle with Sarsebolapox lol and a wicked cold I've actually gotten some progress done. I decided to change my build up just a little bit too. I've been seeing some really amazing torque numbers out of fellow members and I figured I'd join the bandwagon So far the build has gone from top-end horsepower to brute force on the street. Thanks to Technology for his help also with his Proven 440hp Magna Manifold I'm going to be a bit more civilized and aim for mid 300HP's and if my math is correct...Mid to High 400's in the Torque department. The build consist of: Non Jet-valve M28 casting Schnieder's 296 solid camSchnieder's HD6610 SpringsMechanical rockers - Thanks to satty07DAD's 1mm oversized, back-cut, and swirl polished valves - Thanks to DADTechnology's Magna Manifold - Thanks again Andrew!Technology's RC1000cc injectors Technology's Mustang 65mm TBSX fuel pressure regulatorS.M.B. - Custom headerGarrett GT4088RSynapse 50mm wastegateHeron's 3" ExhaustTrilogy Turbo's Billet Magna Fuel Rail - HeronFuelab Prodigy 41402 pumpFuelab Billet filter 100 micronFuelab billet filter 10 micronParker Push-Lok -10AN and -6 fuel linesMSD 6ALMSD BTMMSD DIY Street Fire WiresetMegasquirtII V3.57 pcbPsykore's Spare G54b motor - You the man Dustin!4.62 Gear set - Thanks to Starquest RescueGriffin Radiator - JohnnyWadd here's some of the progress pictures! Bag-O-Chips
I never realized how much of a difference Undercut valves increase flow until I compared my two exhaust valves side by side...http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs458.ash2/73133_444087902772_603717772_5395820_8354931_n.jpgNot only that these valves are huge!http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs920.snc4/73319_442663637772_603717772_5366843_3871386_n.jpgHere's th little guy that i'm using to make those numbershttp://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs446.ash2/71929_444089512772_603717772_5395835_4774350_n.jpghere's a little cheat sheet I use for 37*/45* SAE and JIC fittings. This sickness has been hitting me hard. I think it almost killed Toadie when we were up at Satty07's place. Bag-O-Chips
what clutch are you going to use? I'm gonna see if I can get my money's worth out of my centerforce/fidanza setup right now. Then when it kicks the bucket I'll throw in a Spec stage 4 or 5. I know it's over kill but I'm aiming for really heavy forces going through the trans... AND! I got dibbs on my neighbors MkIV Supra 6speed I might have to call Bill... Bag-O-Chips
Alrighty then, Megasquirt II is on the way aswell as a 12' harness. I don't recall who told me that but THANKS!!! you saved my butt hours of time!!. I finally got back from the welding shop (i don't have an inverter TIG welder ) to get the Elbow put on the Compressor housing. I've been looking at most MPI setups and I'm gonna try to get the shortest route possible with the intercooler piping. Another thing I noticed from a few proven MPI set-up are the stepped piping. When the garage isn't so cold I'm gonna draw up a 2.25" from the turbo to the Intercooler and 2.5" from the intercooler to the TB. But for the mean while here's a pic! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs495.ash2/76807_454209322772_603717772_5554584_6443179_n.jpg

Bag-O-Chips
I don't really have too many updates as of yet, but!!! The rods I ordered are going to take a bit of time to get made. They are billet forged XXXX alloy aluminum rods by R&R Connecting Rods. http://www.rrconnectingrods.com/rrproaluminumrods2.jpg Pistons are ordered too, Wiseco 92mm units with an 8.8:1 compression ratio and the virgin crank has to be sent out with the rotating assembly to be lightened up. The pistons are going to be lightened up by a few grams, the crank is getting lightened and bull nosed too. It's just a waiting game right now. I gotta wait for the rods and pistons before I send out the crank for any kind of work. My build just got interesting...
S.M.B
make sure u leave the piston in the hole atleast.020, those aluminum rods stretch quite a bit over time.
Bag-O-Chips
from the research I've been doing, .020" +/- .002" seems to be the magic number. According to R&R.
Technology
Also, if you don't daily drive it, you shouldn't worry about them stretching much.

psu_Crash
Looks like things are coming along nicely! although a little slow Any particular reason you went with the billet rods? Aside from the obvious weight. Imo shot peened and recon'd stock rods are plenty strong enough for us sub 500 HP guys needs. Don't get me wrong. They are beautiful, just curious.
Bag-O-Chips
I went with the billet rods because of the mass itself, it's twice the size of the Stock rod and at the same time they are twice as light. When I called for the rods I asked them how much does this rod stretch and the engineers there made their proprietary allow so dense it wouldn't stretch like their competitors rods. They also said if you had to daily drive the car it would be possible. ...this car a daily, not in this lifetime.
Bag-O-Chips
I got fed up with trying to get the Blower motor out to get the rest of the wire harness so I deviated just a little to keep from going insane... This isn't exactly MPI related but since it's part of the build I decided to put them in any way. I hope you guys like it!Carbon fiber center consolehttp://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs790.ash1/168050_496163917772_603717772_6186910_4971463_n.jpg Carbon fiber Door accentshttp://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/hs309.snc6/181721_495953682772_603717772_6183529_1459345_n.jpg
Bag-O-Chips
It's been a while since my last update, but I've finally found a break in the weather and work So I decided to get started on the wiring harness. everything went smoothly except for one thing... The Gray wire that says IGN is the tach signal if I'm not mistaken and is shielded and has the ground from pin2. Ugh... Like Technology said. All you TBI guys, stay TBI. This is such a head ache if you're no where near electrically inclined. And it's a worse head ache if you are electrically inclined.
Bag-O-Chips
Alrighty guys this is a good one! What's Metal, Tubular, Welded, and Made by our Very own S.M.B? BAM!!! Fitment is damn near excellent!!! going to get coated ASAP http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/solidboosttsi/SMB1.jpgThese welds are pretty solid with excellent penetration I said penetration http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/solidboosttsi/SMB5.jpgAfter I installed the Wastegate I chuckled a bit http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/solidboosttsi/Synapse50mm.jpgDoing Spark plugs just started to suck now http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/solidboosttsi/SMB4.jpgCelebratory Milk and cookies!http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/solidboosttsi/cookies.jpg The quality and fit of this header is second to none. Ebay, SFP, or any other tubular unit has no say against Chris's header. The best part about this all is, once it gets coated in and out it will out last the life of the car. Not only that, but he definitely went over kill on bracing the header. I'm glad he did!, with out it I'm almost sure the GT4088 would cause the whole thing to sag after repeated hot lapping at the tracks.
