Does anyone know a company that makes a lock-up convertor for a Turbo 350 that can withstand racing abuse?  Very few out there for 350's but REALLY want to avoid going to a Th400 if at all possible.  This will be launched off transbrake....so may be an impossible setup to build, but would be nice when driven on the street.

Why do you want a lockup converter? Fuel economy? You can get a TH350C that has a lockup converter and buy a lockup controller for it.
No, it's not a DeLorean. Stop asking.

Just helping someone plan a project.  350c's are dang near impossible to find around me, and there's quite a debate on the power capability.  Never seen one with transbrake either....not saying they don't exist, but I've never seen one.  Biggest reason he wants a lock-up is it will not be a track only car and any help on the road will be good....also the only reason he's not using a Powerglide.  We looked in 700r4's but didn't see a way without removing most of the tunnel.  He has no intentions of running times like Joe, but has to have an auto.

I street drove a quest with a th350 w/brake and a 4500 stall converter. It drove pretty nice. Even highway.
If he is worrying about highway cruising, it isn't as bad as some people say it is. (That's normally people who haven't done it.)
Plus, since it will be manual valve body, on low speed cruising, just stay in second.

Was that a 4g car or the 2.6? I am thinking with a 4g63 no overdrive would be ok, but not so much with the 2.6.

I have not done anything, but i have looked in to it and  i think the ford tranny is a better choice fit wise. I can get a ford trans that will mate to a Chevy adapter.

http://www.fbperformance.com/

This would be the all out version. http://www.fbperform...ansmissionID=86
they should be able to do a ford overdrive trans with a chevy bell for a 300-350 hp motor for less. Some thing like this with the chevy bell. The down side is the low tq rating on the cheeper trans, http://www.fbperform...-Transmissions/

The good stuff gets expensive.  And you would want the optional gear ratio  http://www.fbperform...ansmissionID=37

A built 200r4 should fit better as well. http://www.fbperform...-Transmissions/

Yes, that was behind a 4g63. I've had one behind a stock 4g63, and a built 4g63. It didn't act any different.

I'm just curious, what difference do you suppose the engines will have in how the overdrive will work?

The rpm power range. I would think the 2.6 would be hard to live with, with out over drive.
