I found this not-stock-looking electronic box under the driver's side dashboard near the fusebox. It was actually tied to the clutch pedal frame, and had a lot of sketchy looking splicing going on near it with a single connector going into the box. My best guess is that it's some kind of butchered immobilzer install or one of those awful viper locking/auto start boxes. Any thoughts?

The circuitboard doesn't seem to have any clues for me beyond having a couple of basic processing chips

I'm not sure what to make of the random jumpers that are super long but route back into the box. The wiring mess that was nearby is pretty rough too.

Starting to worry about getting the electronics of this car back to good condition, it seems the previous owner of this car though himself quite the electrician as the radio install was pretty terrible too. Thanks for your help SQClub, you've been a great resource so far!

Take your time.  You’ll get it.  My radio harness was trashed too.
