figured i'd update.....nothing major....still slow going....but finally dropped the payment to get the t56 trans i bought from ebay a couple years ago sent out for an inspection and rebuild

i believe that is the last major hurdle and financial expenditure i had left

it's been gone for a month or so...and is on its way back

Where did you get your engine mounts?

The mounts shown earlier in this thread are the Speedway Motors style universal mounts.  We are no longer using those and have moved on to the Corvette C6 style mounts. The Corvette mounts are mounted forward of the crossmember and make way more room for exhaust and steering components.  The Speedway Motors style would work well with turbo manifolds, but really get in the way of standard style headers.

Thanks for the update. I'm surprised no one on the forum makes mounts for LS motors yet.

I'd be willing to do it, but don't think there's a market for it.  Anyone that's capable of doing the rest of the swap is capable of making there own mounts, so why pay for someone else's labor?

if all goes according to plan it should be mechanically done in 2 weeks before it goes back to the paint man for final touches

been a while since last update.

body work is done except a few trim pieces. mechanical work is mostly done. Larry is chasing down 2 leaks. one in the rack and another that popped up with the coolant. Should be a month until i get it back if all goes well. cross my fingers.  6 long years almost done.  here are some pics leaving the final body work to work out the leaks with larry

Congratulations Walker!!  I have been following your thread for a long time.  There are things about your car that were inspirations for mine.  So glad to see you saw this through.  I thought for awhile there maybe you had abandoned the project all together.

Looks so good with the 83 hood - I really need to get one!

thanks Tech. It took a very long time and everyone involved was very patient and generous. I'm glad to have her back and log some drive time.  She sure is pretty :)

i really need to find a good condition heat shield yet and do the interior. No rush for either of those things. If you happen to see a good heat shield shoot me a PM :)
