1988 Starion, Car was t-boned in the driver side smashing the the driver side in. Engine Still runs and has lots of power. new full injectors only 2 years old. Been sitting under a carport since Feb. no tarp over it. Interior still in good condition but will need cleaning. back Hatch still Opens and Close, hood was pinned down due to broken Latch. passenger side perfectly fine. Good Project or Donor Car. Ill post some pictures soon, the body it self is broken so there is not fixing it without a new shell, also the engine runs fine but the driver side door does not close at all way to much damage lol. Thanks for the feed back if anyone can help me find a cheap shell that would be awesome, ill keep a look out on the forums but pm me in case I miss it thanks!

I have owned my starion since early 07, yesterday I was t-bone right into the driver side door and smashed it all up. The person that hit me just left so it was a hit and run. The engine still runs but the whole driver side is destroyed. I don't know if I should sell it as a donor car, part it out, or buy a shell and start over.... Hello name is Matt Comfort, i am 24 and I live in Hull Ga which is right outside of Athens Ga. I have a 1988 Mitsubishi Starion. I bought it from a guy in Winder Ga for $800 dollars when i was 17, he did not have it running at the time and was sitting for over 2 years. After my father and I took it home it took about a week to get it running due to school. We did a normal tune-up to see if it was something simple and dumb, we were wrong lol, we messed with a few things including the computer. After a few trail and error we found it, it was a simple junkyard part for $10 the ignitor was bad. Replaced and the car was Alive! It did not have an exhaust on it and the Airdam was destroyed. The Junkyard i noramlly go to for parts had a 1987 Conquest, to be honest i was surprised he had it. I pulled the exhaust off of it. the airdam was in worse condition then mine was so i did not bother with it, i pulled the rear axles as well. When i went to go buy the whole car from him he had crushed the car Replaced a few pieces and the car was running but alittle rough, About a week later the car was idling at 4k rpm! Was alittle scary to be sitting still and your car is screaming at you. I am normally my own mechanic but i did not want to mess with the idle, so I took the car to japanese autoworks, there was a guy there that claimed he was a Starion Expert! I happy to hear that, the dude told me pay him $100 and he would do a diagnosis and see what is going on. When i came back in a week the guy told me he could not find what was wrong but if we gave him $200 more he would do an even deeper diagnosis. NOPE! I took the car home and look into it myself. I was the Throttle Cable from sitting for so long it had gotten alittle rusted and it was sticking. Fixed! I did have to change the fuel injectors after 3 years, fuel filter, fuel pump, altenator, and radiator. Car ran GREAT for 2 years after that. I got the car painted and started to show it a few times. The engine was nothing special but it was rare to see here in Athens. Shortly after that the car was running really sluggish and died. 2 years after it died i learned my father put a performace coil in the car, It was new so we did not bother to look too close at it. The coil was was leaking so it had a bad connection. Damn thing sat for 2 years for nothing. Before it sat my hood latch cable broke and had to cut the latch "did not know you could go under it and pop it open at the time" When i got the car back my dad had put hood pins on the car since we cut the latch. About a month ago i forgot to put the pin back in after I checked my fluids......... about 1 mile from my house at about 40mph my hood came flying up. It did not break my windshield, but my hood and cowl is detroyed. I want an 83 hood anyways, so once I broke the hood i figured i would start to restore it.
