Lowering Springs/KYB/camber

Recommended Posts

I bought my Starion with lowering springs already installed... it needed new struts so I got some KYBs... they sit 2 inches higher than the 15 year old stock Tokicos which I think were bad.  Now the springs are loose when I jack the car up (whenever the tires are off the ground)... Has anyone experienced this?

There is about a half inch of space of looseness inbetween the strut and the spring.

Also... when lowered the camber is off /----.  is there a way to fix this?  The problem only seems to be in the rear...   These 9 inch wide tires are expensive and I dont want to loose any to bad alignment.  Any tips on alignment on wide tires (8 & 9s) would be appreciated

I havent gotten all the parts to do the front yet so I have no clue what i will run into with that.

Hey DJpowerHaus, I'm suffering from the same problem.

My 88 Starion was lowered when I got it, and like yours, it's rear camber is all screwed up as well.

The struts/shocks, whatever are awsome, it's really stuck to the road, but the tires are showing some mean damage due to wearing away the inner tread.

Did you ever figure this out?

Nothing is different.... still havnt gotten the car on the road yet.... turns out Im EXTREMELY picky about this thing and am checking almost everything before I even go an get it inspected.  I dont think IM going to fix the higher rear... the camber is better than before.  So Im going to leave it like this... HOPEFULLY.. in a week I will be able to tell you if it handles nicely :0D
