Couple of electrical issues

I have about 1300 miles on this thing now and most all is well.  I have come across a few issues I thought someone might be able to point me in the right direction on.

High Beams, they work as normal with the headlights.  They do not light up the indicator in the dash, that has been checked, bulb changed, and I used a power probe to light it up from where the plug goes in the dash so I am confident that problem is not in the dash cluster.  When you "flash to pass" with the headlights off the lights come on, but they do not raise the headlights as they should.  Any ideas if those issues are related?  All other functions are good, the fog lights and high beams also work like they should with the high beams cancelling the fogs.

Rear Defroster, everything at the hatch is good, the third brake light and rear wiper function as they should.  The defroster switch does not light up when pressed, all fuses and fuse links are good.  Also the light that illuminates the defroster switch(when the headlights are on) doesn't work either.  The bulb has been checked and it is good.  Also, how do you remove that defroster and dimmer switch?  I was able to check the bulb while I had the cluster out but didn't see how to remove those items.

The cruise control also doesn't work, but I assume that is not related to these issues and I have not tested anything beyond the vacuum pump and relay.

To remove the defroster and dimmer switch are one unit I had to push it out from behind.my defroster light doesn't light either, but I believe it's due to my rear defroster being  busted. Accident happened about 18 months ago and the rear window to a hit. didn't shatter but definitely took a hit.

as far as the lights make sure to check all related relays. I had a hell of time tracking down fuses and relays when I first my my Starion. It was fun (not)

crusie control has been a pain in the arse for me. I replaced just about everything and so far nothing, check the stalk switch the FSM (don't remember the page #) has a break down of how the switch contacts connected at each position of the switch. Check for continuity for those switch positions if they all check out that will be one more thing to check off the list.

For the cruise control, it is common that the little plastic 'bumper' on the clutch pedal degrades and falls off.  When this happens, the switch no longer is depressed when the clutch is disengaged.  The switch is solely for the cruise control on our cars.  So, the cruise thinks the clutch pedal is depressed and won't let it do anything.     One quick fix would be to simply unplug the switch and try it.   When the clutch is disengaged, the switch is depressed and the circuit is open (ie it is a NC switch).

For the defroster, I've experienced something similar that was the result of an open circuit actually on the defroster lines on the hatch glass.

I think your high beam issue is related but I'd have to ponder that a bit while looking over the FSM.
