I've been fortunate that I'm getting to work unlimited hours. I average between 60 to 72 hours a week. It's tough some days but I'm going to get it while it's available. I expect work to taper off to about 40 - 48 hours by middle Spring then it'll pick back up around September.

It is obvious that it is bad elsewhere.Dan you are working the life  away from playing with cars.
But look at the money you will have. :D

What we have created is a whole welfare mentality culture that dragging the USA through the muck right now. The taxes, the debt and these wasteful programs are an anchor on everyone who works. Sorry to hear about the cut hours, just happy the job was not cut completely.

This is an older thread but wanted to say the wife has been busy for 2017.My shop last year was slammed and did very well but just about killed me ,so this year I have taken it easier and still doing good.I am just saying guys chasing the dollar more than a living don't seem worth it in the long run.

i agree ^^^ i have a friend that is a mechanic for ford. but when he gets home he works on 1 car a night and tries for 3 on the weekends.
yes he has a ton of money BUT when you visit him he is working the whole time and not really that much fun. known him my whole life.
he is very Frugal. does not seem to have a lot. but paid cash for all that he owns including his house (350K) and has not debt.
