  1. Balance shafts have been deleted as well. My thought is a bearing starting to go. But my experience with failing bearings is all the way through the rpm with fluttering noise on deceleration. I'm at a lost lol
  2. Hi all, before I dish a crap load of money into my conquest I need some help. Bought an 87 wide. Had a knocking noise and rattling noise. Changed the timing chain and tensioner with it. Rattling went away but the knock is still there. Here's the deal. It only knocks when warm, and only knocks around 2k to 4k and that's it. Has a non jet valve head with hydraulic lifters. Any idea? Oil looked alright to me as well.
  3. Sweet, I've got all the tools to do so. Thanks guys i really appreciate it
  4. I'm wanting to install my areomotive fpr I have. But I'm lost on installing it. The pictures I have seen when people installing the aftermarket ones show no where of the stock mounting fpr. Do you just cut that section off and thread the opening to fitting you want? My fpr took a crap on me and hoping to get this done ASAP
  5. Hello all, new and proud. Wanted one of these cars for 8 years and finally snagged one thanks to a member on here that is a really good friend on the outside of the forum. Picked the car up and noticed a day later that it has a rough idle and when it's cold it bogs down nasty on full throttle. Once the car is fully warmed up it still has a weird slight rough idle, but you can full throttle it. Boost fine and runs great. The previous owner set the TPS and checked timing to a T on it. Re did all the vacuum lines on it as well. I did some searching on here and found that the coolant sensor by the oil dipstick could be culprit. Curious before I really tear into this car and restore it if there is anything else to check into so I don't have to keep going back and forth with it. Thanks in advance! 1987 conquest tsi wide 5spd
