  1. motor and trans still for sale. about to shoot video of it running and just pull it so I can move forward with my build. shoot me an offer
  2. I will have to pull it to see. Not sure, it was on the car when I bought it.
  3. Any advice on pricing from anyone who has sold a motor or transmission?
  4. I have a running 2.6 turbo engine and transmission out of a 1986 conquest. Currently in car and if you are local or want to take a look at it before buying you can. I bought the car in December 2013 and have put maybe 300 miles on it. The transmission was just rebuilt before I bought the car costing the previous owner $1500 to have rebuilt. Motor runs but has an issue I am having trouble figuring out, I bought the car with intention of swapping and am tired of working on the stock motor. I believe it runs rich. The manifold will get red hot. I had the injectors tested and can get you that info. Came back leak free but one has a straight stream. Purchased two new injectors from fuelinjectorclinic.com and it won't idle. Put the original ones back in and it starts and idles fine. IDK New distributor, had manifold professionally welded up due to cracks, 3 inch downpipe PM me an offer, honestly I am not sure what I should get out of all of this. Don't really want to separate engine and tranny but might sell downpipe and injectors separate. For pickup preferred. Can help ship it if needed but of course added cost to you for that. My work ships heavy items a lot so might have a better price on that but I would need to ask them what that price is. Ask any questions you want. Thanks!
  5. They are 850's. I did see their engraving on the side before installing them. My old ones are also 850's according to the flow testing I sent them to get done before I purchased new ones. I will look up the ovcp thing and figure out what that is and take a look. thanks
  6. I have swapped them around with some tests. Either way, I do not beileve they are flooding as the problem because with both new ones, while it would not start, I sprayed some starter fluid spray in the air can. It then started, but did not hold for long till it died back out. I was thinking it is probably not flowing enough because of that? correct? or do I have that wrong? When I swapped one injector for the old one with the straight spray pattern, it runs but rich like before.
  7. wiring? even if I throw the old injectors back in and it starts and idles? please explain if so
  8. no cats. that would have nothing to do with why the old injectors idle and the new do not
  9. edit: I check it out, both injectors old and new have the same resistance of 2.3, so they are both low impedence
  10. I purchased two new injectors from fuelinjectorclinic.com and now it will not start or hold idle. It did technically start a couple times but would not idle, now will not start at all. car is an 1986 conquest and uses two matching 850cc injectors I also purchased and soldered in two new clip connectors.. when I install my old injectors, the car does start, but has rich issues due to one injector having a straight spray pattern (I posted about that in this other thread after I had them cleaned and tested http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=143574 ) I did test the new injectors that they will open and close by connecting a AA battery to them and listened for a click, which they did. With the old aftermarket injectors it runs rich, black smoke, idles fine but when running it on the road under load the exhaust manifold heats up red hot quick. I believe it is because the injector does not atomize the spray pattern and pools up fuel in the intake.
  11. thanks all for your help. I went ahead and ordered two new injectors from fuelinjectorclinic.com. But now the car will not start at all with the new injectors. I started a new thread about it here: http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=143670
  12. Mark, could you show me a photo of the o rings you speak of? as far as I know they are setup like they always have been, there are two on the top portion, and when I sent them to be cleaned they came back with two new ones on the top of each. I have never seen o rings on the bottom.
  13. thanks. Yeah I may have to invest into some new ones. Would it be a bad idea to purchase just one injector to replace the one with a bad spray pattern? I bought a new distributor so that should be fine.
  14. Could that lead toward the red hot exhaust manifold? Too much fuel and excess burning in exhaust? 87quest: good thought, but I don't have a cat. 3 inch downpipe with straight pipe to a muffler in the back
