VERY reliable. I've been running the radiator without shroud and two 10" fans for 2 years and have never had a problem of running too hot even in 100* weather. Can only imagine how much better it'll be with the shroud.

I have read that the shroud prevents flow through the rad when fans are not running

Causing the engine to run hotter then normal. But cools quick when fans are on.

They stated it was better without the shroud when cruising. Now that is based our cars.

Worth buying just the fans/shroud to upgrade from stock? I already have the *DM radiator

KayDM radiator is the CX Racing radiator. That's who made it for him. So just buy the fans and shroud and you're all set.

That shroud sucks. It only helps because it doesn't compromise the core like you can with the zip tie mounts. If you use foam tape between the fan and the fin contact it will work a lot better than having the shroud. You get 100 percent of the fans CFM moving air through the fins, AND your ambient air flow is not blocked. Those shrouds that you see on most OEM applications have little one way vents and holes and are spaced farther out from the core than those shrouds on the ebay kits. They are more like airdams than shrouds.

I bet motocam360 could make a set for use to use like this

I used the zip ties before and never had an issue

I bought this last week and went to install it without success. With the shroud and fans in place, the primary fan hits the water pump pulley. I'd say don't waste your money buying the shroud because you won't be able to use it anyways.

Was it 1400 bucks? The ebay auction shows $1399 right now!

You could do two two Spal 16 inch fans and a relay kit for 1/10th that price. I am guessing they are out of stock and that's why they raise the price. At $349.00 its still a decent deal, toss the shroud and use both fans, just wire them into the stock relays. WIN

O yeah? That's some good information since I too run the afore-mentioned radiator. I'd like to ditch the stock shroud for something in better shape.

Edit: Just read the rest about the fitment of the shroud ... I have two 14" fans here that I planned to use a while back but stuck to the stock setup since it was easier at the time.

So how would you mount 2 x 16" fans on there!? The 2 14s I have seemed that they were too big?

after running with the shroud for a while in 95 DEG days...

it seems like the radiator air flow is kind of reduced.

on hot days it seems to run a little warm. with out the

shroud i think the air flow when fans are off was better.

less restriction.

the only difference i see that is better is now that i used

window sealer foam strips to close any and all gaps in the

shroud, when fans turn on the temps drop a lot faster on

the dash gauge. to me it is more noticeable.

on regular days below 90 the gauge is rock solid and does

not move.

Still very happy.

The shroud is indeed a cooling loss due the the lack of ambient flow. If you use foam tape at the fan mount and go without the shroud you might be even better .

Thats what i am thinking.

i did use the foam strips on the sides of the radiator between the rad support and radiator

but not across the top and bottom the gap is so small i dont believe it will be much help to

do so. but the side gap is big.

i just dont know if i want to stick radiator fan mounts through this radiator it is so nice!
