stariondreams
Ok i had this circut in the ecu for awhile now and never understood the diagram http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/SpareCircuit.gif[\img] mine is on circut js0 which i believe is Iac 1A now what wire go where and how do i hook it up to the relay i am 150% lost dummy terms please! I dont get how i am going to complete this circut it it is in the megasquirt am i supposed to run that many extra wires?

psu_Crash
The processor output port provides a positive voltage to the base of the NPN transistor (2N2222). The 1k resistor is there to limit current from the processor port and through the B-E junction of the transistor. When there is a positive voltage at the base of the transistor it connects its collector to the emitter with about a 0.7 volt drop over it. This supplies ground to the relay pin 85 and energizes the relay coil. The 1N4001 diode is there to sink inductive voltage spikes from the relay coil to ground to avoid any damage to the processor port or other sensitive electronic components.Once the relay coil is energized it pulls in the contacts and supplies power from pin 86 to 87.
