  1. Hey I know this is off topic but there are two vaccine lines that look like they run Into the dash, I can't find where the one on the right hooks at. I see yours has them also. Any idea? Also great car, I really like the blue.
  2. Got it. I diddnt realize that had to be tight, not sure if its running as strong as it should though.
  3. Ok I'm getting fed up with this. Now its leaking at the manifold, bolted it again and it stopped, but now its leaking oil from the feed line under the nut it screws into. Bout to just scrap the whole car. Wasting more money than its worth.
  4. Is it a bad idea to use gasket sealant on these? the ones i ordered came in metal, which threw me off.
  5. from personal experiance, that would be a great idea. although, not sure if its just mine but it seems to hold well when it gets hot. first bulled it out of the bay and the gauge diddnt work, smelt some burning time machine sludge and she was smoking and coolant was boiling, after that still held up. although it looked like it had an existing head gasket leak. dont know what happened but it seems like it has resealed, a miracle for me anyway. if its not your only car, i would take it slow enough to know exactly whats going to happen even if your gauges arent working. maybe even have a temp gauge that sends you a text saying hey shut this thing off. lol ** ALSO, you know not to run it hot, then crack the hood right away i hope. metal tends to warp when it gets a rapid cool down and heat up. i know you can buy something that will keep it running for 60 seconds after you take your key out just for this purpose
  6. if you could provide me a link to the braided oil feed line i will be in good shape, i was a bit worried that i would have to find a used one on a junked conquest if they even existed, took my weeks to find just about everything i have bought for it. so far im 600 bucks in the hole on it and its totally worth it. and im willing to buy expensive performance parts. another question i have is about the vacuum lines, do they all have to be the exact same width as the factory ones? because if so i may have some problems. im surprised to find i had none when i got it. just thought about this also but im not used to having a turbo car and it seems like it runs hot, although the gauge says its all fine. would a cold air intake be a good idea?
  7. I recently got myself a 1988 Chrysler Conquest, after a new fuel pump and all new filters and plugs it runs, it had a bad miss and it got worse after a few drives around the block. turns out it needed new gaskets all around the turbo. probably should have thought about that. ...anyway, i have it taken completely out already and i was wondering if there is anything i should do for the car while i have it taken out and everything (minus taking the turbo apart, i dont want to mess that one up) another thing, is there a place where i can find more of the METAL oil lines that feed through the top?
  8. two things: i WAS almost 100% sure it was from the exaust leak (my boost gauge started randomly reading differently one day) but now that you mention it, im sure its a combo of everything but i could see the difference in the idle once it was heated (expanding the metal and sealing it off a bit better) also, which one is the "pre cat" ive never seen one anyway, like i said im totally new to this i just know that it should be done anyway, also it looks like all these gaskets are metal...?? which sealent should i use that will be able to stand the heat?
  9. im not taking the turbo apart by the way, its just a leak coming from the cat converter (i had an ASE certified mechanic look at it, just happens to be a friend) ALTHOUGH, i figured it may be a good idea down the line to maybe give it a look at and make sure everythings all good? assuming that i am definately not the first one to get their conquest after sitting.
  10. there was an exaust leak causing it to idle extremely funky, i probably should have said that. the car sat without a single start for nine years, so i figured every gasket needed to be replaced anyway. the gasket around the O2 sensor looked like white mold, if you would have seen it you would know what i meant. i am in no way worried or feeling like i screwed it up. the bend in the oil p[ipe isnt to bad anyway. like i said, im taking it slow.
  11. i diddnt HAVE to mess with the O2, but i figured all gaskets need to be replaced sometime between nine years of sitting, and i do understand. i have a Mazda 626 as my commute car, so whatever i mess up is a learning experience i surely will never forget, the second i actually understood what this car was i realized the amount of respect that she needs and ill give it to her. and i am very patient with everything considering my father is an idiot, he hasnt been much help BUT! a big question i have, is considering my turbo is in my bedroom right now (getting a nice cleaning with a wire brush) is there anything i should do as far as PRIMING it? by that i mean oil and coolant, because there is nothing in it right now as far as fluids go and for that second that it is started without any fluid in it im thinking it may hurt it, i am veryjz about this car i dont even let anyone sit in it just yet. haha
  12. oh no i love this car i will never sell it unless someone tells me it will bring world peace, this is not my first car to fix anyway. ive already had to drop the gas tank (twice) i have no problems with being in awkward places, i just want the piece of mind for someone to tell me "hey you arent going to blow this thing up"
