Aftermarket Valve Springs

Recommended Posts

So I took my head to a local head guy here that is very well known in the drag racing world, as he used to work for Russell Baker Racing Engines until Russell passed away in 2012. His name is Dusty Frazier, his shop is called Fast by Frazier in Wyandotte Oklahoma. Anyways, he has found a set of springs that work for our heads from Iskenderian (Isky), part # V005D, 125lb. coil bind at .630. These are actually made for an older Porsche Turbo, but he says they are an exact fit, and as I said, I have them on my AMC Marnal head now. These cost me $140 for the springs.I was going to go with a set of Beehives, but he found these for me and suggested that I use them. It raised the pressure from my old Schneider HD springs quite a bit, about 65 lbs open, and 30lbs closed. I am no mechanic, so I don't know much about it, but I just figured I would share this information with you guys in case someone out there is looking for an upgrade to their springs. Iskenderian is prolly the oldest name in high performance cams/springs that there is as they have been around since the 1940s I believe.
