Juggary
Here is a step by step instruction for anyone who wants to install the 1st Generation Eclipse (90 thru 94) stereo with CD, Cassette and Amplifier on there StarQuest. 1. Remove StarQuest stereo system from car. 2. Install the StarQuest mounting brackets on the eclipse stereo system both CD and Cassette player. 3. For 87 thru 89 models, remove the (2) screws that fasten the seat belt controller. 4. The carpet is already cut in the stereo compartment just move the carpet toward both doors. This will provide room underneath the plastic vent. If carpet is not cut than cut a slit and move carpet away. 5. Manuever the harness cable to the side of plastic vent. The connector harness must be away from center cause you will need all the room to fit the amplifier there. 6. Push and squeeze the seat belt controller underneath the plastic vent all the way in. Remember there should be no carpet there cause you moved the carpet away and all you should have is insulation. The seat belt controller should be as far in and flush to the plastic vent. 7. Install the eclipse stereo system with the StarQuest front face plastic console, there should be (4) screws. 8. Connect the two amplifier connector to the eclipse stereo and manuever the amplifier and stereo into the stereo location. The connectors on the amplifier should be facing the fire wall. This is a very tight location. (DON'T install all the way in cause you have'nt connected the stereo connectors yet. 9. Now connect the (3) connectors and the antenna to the eclipse stereo system. 10. Make sure the amplifier is under the CD player and facing the right direction (Read instruction 8) and butted up against the plastic vent right behind the seat belt controller and push stereo system as far back as possible. Make sure the seat belt controller wire harness cable is not behind the amplifier or else it will not fit. 11. When eclipse stereo system is pushed as far in, there should be (1) hole per side on the stereo bracket that will line up with one of the taped screws. Install and fasten (1) screw for each side. Then screw the ground. 12. Walla, the eclipse stereo system with CD, Cassette, and amplifier is installed. Now just re-install the center console and covers. Congratulation on installing the Eclipse Stereo System (Enjoy). P.S.: Thanks to Paul, aka Paul87Quest for his help, buy giving me good instructions. Guest Paul87Quest
From my experience with the DSM player in my car, you will need to burn the cd at a lower speed...when I tried to burn at 8X, it would read error...when I burned 2X it worked....and this was with a Sony burner, and good quality media. :-/

Guest Paul87Quest
AMP IS REQUIRED. No amp....no sound. Period. Also make sure you get the DIN plug connectors that interface the cd player and the amp.
