  1. Lets all pool our cash and do that to a G54 in the ultimate Starquest. Engine bling to the MAX.
  2. LOL, never been a Honda fan, they have always been more of a commuter appliance rather then a desirable car in my book. That being said I can't fault the performance. Its not the most comfortable car for me, the cavalier is set up a lot better for Americans then the Hondas, but it will do for now. I'm 6'4" and after driving for a half hour there is something about the fit of the car the makes my right ankle sore. I think I need a seat that goes farther back but then my reach to the wheel will be too far. I dunno, we'll see I guess.
  3. Not on my Starquest but I have 255/50R16 on my 16x8" IROC wheels on the Camaro. I cant really speak for intense handling as the car is mainly for street/drags but I cut a 1.8 60ft on Pep Boys Futura Ultra Z tires, the car is making about 300 crank HP. I think its worth it over the 245's. BTW the stock tire on a camaro with 16x8 is a 245 so I think a 245 on a 9" wide rim is too small. Id run a 275 on a 9" as long as it doesnt rub. Grip is more a question of tire compound/tread design then a 10mm tread difference. I cant understand how a wider tire would have less grip on dry pavement though. Go with the best tire that you can afford in any of the available sizes that work for you. If you can get a great tire in 245 or a crappy tire in 255 go with the 245. Once again that said id go for SHPs and run a 245 in front and a 265-275 out back assuming you can find a tire in the size you need. Decent 16" tires are becoming harder to find. Im sure Tire Rack has what you need though.
  4. Little bit of a back story before I get to the car, thanks for reading Over the past 2-3 years my wife and I have been through a lot financially speaking. I had to sell both my Conquest and my 91 Firebird Forumla back in spring of 09 to help pay for our wedding in October and to get us by after I had to close my auto repair shop due to this crap economy. Fortunitly I was able to keep both my Camaro and my 83 RX7. I also have my Silverado and my daily driver Cavalier plus the wifes Sentra so we arent exactly car poor. Well back last november I got a new job and we were on the way to recovering money-wise and I was planning on finally being able to work on my projects as most of my cars need something or other. Just as I was starting to get parts together to get my Camaro to the drag strip again this past spring I had a horrible accident at work where I was badly burned (29% of my body has 3rd degree burns) in an explosion. I was in the hospital for 6 weeks, two of them in a coma. Its been a long hard year since then recovering from my injuries. Since I couldnt really bend my knees enough to get in and out of my Cavalier (plus its stick which is hard to drive when you cant move well) I was driving my Silverado thats easy to get in and out of. My dad was driving my Cavalier then since it gets better mileage then his Volvo on his long commute. So in october I went to a drag strip rental with my local camaro club. I was just watching since Im not up to racing yet. Although I wasnt even driving something of mine still managed to get broken. My dad was messing around driving the cavalier with a little too much gusto, missed a shift and the timing chain skipped a few teeth letting the valves and pistons become close friends. So the cav is now sitting until I get around to being able to put a new (used) engine into it. Early in december a guy I know put his 95 Civic DX up for sale. Since Im getting ready to go back to work hopefully next month and since Im doing a lot better I went to take a look at the car. It just happened to be the right deal at the right time and for a really good price so I ended up buying the car. It started life as a automatic D15 but the guy I bought it from swapped a D16 SOHC Vtec Si engine in with a stick shift conversion too. The car came with both steel wheels and snow tires plus aluminum 14" HX civic wheels with summer tires. The HX wheels are the lightest factory wheels and get good mileage plus being good for auto-x. The car doesnt look like anything special, its teal with the normal honda rust around the rear quarters but its not too bad. The hood is dented up but they are cheap to replace. Once spring rolls around and the Cav is fixed or I can take the RX7 out of storage I have a guy lined up to fix the rust and repaint the car. Probably going either black pearl or Champion White. The interior is in really good shape with black cloth. The stock seats are amazingly supportive and extremely well bolstered. The best part is what came in the trunk. Cast turbo manifold, t3/t4 turbo, 2g DSM BOV, DSM injectors, blank chip with adaptor and some other misc parts to install the turbo. The car already has a walbro 255lph fuel pump and AFPR installed. All I have left to get are the intercooler, cold side pipes, fab up the downpipe and exhaust, boost controller and a tune. So far the car has been a great daily driver with enough zip for the winter, Vtec is kind of neat, never been in a car with it before. Its not really worth putting up pictures yet but I'll try an grab some once this damn rain stops. Once the cavalier is back up and running I can get the civic up to snuff and maybe do some auto-x with it this summer which would be great. All I wanted to do was get on the track this past summer but it wasnt ment to be I guess. I know this isnt a Starquest but at least it will be turbo and holy crap the parts for Hondas are CHEAP and AVAILABLE. I thought chevy V8s were cheap to build but damn Hondas are downright affordable. If everything goes right it wont be too much longer till I get another Conquest, a nice rust free SHP this time around hopefully but until then I got enough to keep me busy lol.
  5. Since Im still on pain killers from a bad accident earlier this year I dont drink much more then maybe a glass of wine with dinner once a week or so.I might have one drink tonight though so I will have to make it good. I think I got enough 18 year old Laphroaig left for one drink, and that will be more then enough. If I dont go that route it will probably be some bubbly. Happy New Years!
  6. I had the speedo needle pointing straight down in my minor bolt on 88 IROC-Z. Speedo stops at 150 so Im guessing about 160ish, factory quoted top speed is 150. Did it on US-131 outside of Kalamazoo, MI back around 2002ish at 3 in the morning, dumb. A buddy of mines roommate told me his Neon R/T with exhaust "can't beat you in a drag race but will take you on the top end". He got a 10 second head start and topped out around 110mph, I passed him doing about 130 with the side windows sucking out from the vaccum, he looked like he was standing still and I just kept my foot in it till it couldnt go anymore. Felt very planted at speed, not loose at all. I guess 2.77 gears do have one advantage, top speed. Wouldnt go that fast now, after I blew up 4 700R4s I put in a TH350 and 3.45 rear gears so its much quicker now (especially with a 3,600 stall) but probably wont go over 135-140ish now. I've had my 83 RX7 up to around 120ish but the dry rotted tires made me stop. Bounced off the speed limiter at 113 in my Cavalier and totally wrapped the speedo on my 93 Silverado but that only goes to 85, it said 114 on the GPS. Once the Camaro is back up and running with some new parts there is a perfect spot here by my house on I-355 outside of chicago thats perfect for a top speed run at night, 6 lanes, high fences and NO traffic or cops at night. The GPS will give an accurate top speed.
  7. Looks like a Volvo 140 series or maybe a BMW 2002 but the taillights and the side vent dont match. Can you get a pic of the front of the car? Or better yet the complete one infront of it?
  8. Thats a Northstar that someone swapped in. Not factory. Probably scrapped because Northstars are POS.
  9. It will run like crap without boost. The car is set up to run with a turbo, unless you retune it. And then it will be slow as heck.
  10. Damn, why do these deals always have to happen when I dont have any cash. If you were within trailer distance I would sell my daily just to buy this. Go luck man and hopefully someone who appreciates the car will get it, not some kid whos going to drift it into a wall.
  11. http://www.gtplanet.net/we-love-cars-japanese-gt5-marketing-campaign-launches-wtv-commercial/ Before you load the video you can see two white Starions on the preview screen. They are at second 9 in the clip. Also the first car on the far left of the screen right at the beginning is a Starion. Hopefully this means we will finally have a non-rally Starion in the game! Wonder if they are going to make it a 4G63 or G54B or both? It would be rad if it was a premium car with the fully detailed interior.
  12. Toss that junk Fram filter and go back to a quality Wix, thats my first suggestion. Once we know what kind of truck we can make more recommendations.
  13. The thing has 4 teeth per lift side engaging the safety mechanism. Thats pretty beefy.
  14. Welkome to das revolutuion http://www.tbray.org/ongoing/When/200x/2005/05/01/Hammer_sickle_clean.png
