I'm hoping all goes well, he doesn't seem know a heck of a lot about these cars (he got it with a bulk purchase of vehicles) But for a running car, for $750, that seems like a steal. He's not sure what year it is (he thought it was early/mid 80's). Pretty rare bird if it's an 89, right? And an auto with cloth to boot. I'll have to look at the door plate to be sure (is June '88 and after, the cutoff for an 89 model year?) No way I would touch it without a title, but that is just me. It looks nice and for the money I am sure it is a good deal as long as it doesn't have any rust or major issues. natallica Posted March 11, 2013 Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) I met up with the guy today and went over the car. The interior is in "near" mint shape. It's an 88 Starion, hardly any rust, a few tiny cancer spots. One tiny hairline fracture on original airdam (hardly noticeable) and it actually started. Oil is a tad milkshakish (head gasket is my guess), but totally unmolested engine bay, and interior....and MINT, MINT 88 Starion tails The guy told me his girlfriend accepted a check from someone a bit before I got there, but he's not sure if it's for this car or one of his many other CL listings. If he sells it to me (I have the cash right now and he knows I want it! ) I'll will be using a good many parts off of the car, But there will be a lot of things going up for sale once I go through everything. I'm to call him back in about an hour and I'll know hopefully if it's mine for sure or not. I have friends who can make an "untitled shell" disappear, if need be.
