Swapped radiators On my 87 and the OE replacement didn't have holes for the thermo switches. So I moved one up to the intake where the egr sensor was and wired it to the switch. "Bench tested" it by grounding that wire to the manifold and fan came on fine. Drove the car and now the fan won't come on at all. Not even when grounding the thermo switch wire. I hear a relay clicking on the left side fender well when I ground it but that's all that happens. Tested the secondary fan by grounding to the same spot and it worked fine.thoughts on what to try/test next.

Well, if you hear the relay clicking then its either not getting 12V power or the relay contacts are dirty. Take the clicking relay off and take it apart to inspect. The relay grounds the fan motor so both sides of the fan motor should show 12V with the key on and one side of the relay should show 12V, the other side ground.
