Lets hope I can finish this...For now I'm going to stick with the stock twins...I just want the g54 gone out of my life...

Going to try and mock up my mounts tomorrow and get this thing going...Since i just got fired from my job I have plenty of time on my hands...at least for a couple of weeks...I'm confident on everything except the wiring...I'm hoping someone will chime in and save me some headache time.... : )

Well...it looks like s*** but I'll fix all that...

 

The biggest thing I noticed right off the bat is...every piece of plastic I touch explodes...bah...

LOL - I thought I only had that bad luck when I bought mine-

Just give Joshua (Dr. Tweak) www.phoenixtuning.com a call and he can hook you up with all the connectors. I had to replace all the coil connectors/water/o2 sensor. I also needed the 2 body plugs because my 1j came from a chaser.

How many people think this only had 30,000 on it...show of hands.... anyone?? i didn't think so... the more I dig on this thing I may just megasquirt it...I'm not sure yet...I don't know how megasquirt is with cam sensor or individual coil packs...NO IDEA....I also can't stand the twin setup...there is too much going on....FA:LJKCUK

There should be a a ton of info on pin outs, I couldnt get the link to work but im sure you can get more info.

this is the freak 1jz that I got. I just don't know what the abbreviations are so I can attempt to hook evertyhing up right...Besides power...grounds and a couple other things I don't know anyways...lol.

LOL...Anything to get the motor running....Here is what my ecu looks like...I'm not sure on the Buddy club racing Piggy back either...I can't find any info on it...

 

My other big thing right now is finding the correct shifter housing and rod....I didn't think it would be that big of a deal but...its not looking good.

OK- you are going to need the two body plugs if you are going to run stock ecu.

The 28 pin plug you will only need to connect igsw,+b1,+b (12v switched), batt is fused 12v.

The 16 pin plug you will need to connect E1 to a ground.

Th power for the coils and injectors, sensors come from another plug on the harness- look for a plug that two big black/red (mine were this colored) or black/org these will also need to be switced 12v. The starter wire is a thin black/red that if you have the complete swap can easliy be traced and spliced in. You can use a meter to trace all the wires.

Which plug do the guages come off of. My r154 has no manual speedo..so getting aftermarket tach and speedo...but planed on using the other stock guagues if possible. oil press..temp and volts....Thanks man.

Do these look familiar? MadDax's drawings work perfect for the 1jz also... I also finished the intercooler bracket...but I have to cut on the support to get the bumper back on...

For informations sake. Most US spec cars use 3/4 16 thread pitch on their oil filers. Toyota used 20mm 1.5 which is very similar. I'm using an oil filter relocation kit. The 3/4 16 dye is more available and pretty cheap 11 bux at fastenal... So half is 20mm 1.5 and the other half is 3/4 16 but the adapter kit won't know the difference. This is the easiest solution I could come up with. The metric dye was more expensive and would have taken 2 weeks for me to get it.

 

All of the studs that I researched were too short...This seems like the only option...or my research skills are weak... : )

I want to try and make this as informative as possible. I'm going to update this as I go along...but Here is a picture of the ECU wiring that is needed...This info is from supturbo who has already done a swap. I don't want credit I'm just posting the info :)

 

These are the ECU plugs from the chaser and early soarer. The 2 plugs on the left are from the engine and most of the time come with the engines..just plug them in...The other 2 will most of the time be missing. I got my plugs from phoenixtuning.com as others have mentioned.

 

I'm going to do everything like this...color coordinated with pictures etc... Hope it helps any future swaps.
