i finally sold the Syclone motor, thank god. took a big hit on that motor but oh well, live and learn. so now i am installing a SBC 350 with th400.

this is my second engine swap in less than a year.

350 30 over

trw forged flat tops

eagle rods

forged crank

holley 650 carb

76cc 400 heads

cheap summit headers

trans dapt motor mounts

edelbrock intake

most of the parts i had lying around so i did not spend much on the parts.

nice man, looks good. I hate to see other engine go, that was a really cool swap. Unfortunatly cool doesn't aways work. Good luck bro.

yea it sucks but i could not throw any more money into that motor. now i know why GM only made them for three years.

You going to keep the p/s gearbox setup? Doesn't even look possible with those heads. Hope you get it together Brian!

going to use early chevy II nova headers, suggested by Kenmarrow. clears the steering box nicely :)

im thinking of doing this very same swap what mounts did you use and any issues putting the motor and trans in?? im going with a 700R4 trans i think to retain some kind of gas mileage.... any help would be awesome thanks

the motor mounts i used are from Transdapt #4505. you will need to figure out what oil pan you are going to use. will you be modding a pan or using a early chevy II front sump? is your car auto or manual trans?

auto trans. and i havent figured out the pan setup yet.

since your car came with an auto trans you should not have to mod the trans tunnel. you can use the early chevy II (nova)front sump pan and pick up. there is also a rear sump that is notched that may work for you as well.

the starquest was origianly manual but were using an auto chevy trany.

you will need to make some room in the tunnel for the auto trans. i also had to shorten my drive shaft 3" and had a GM yoke welded on to fit my th400.

Looks great,

Might want to give yourself a little more room up front. I put my radiator at an angle in the IC area. I installed a 15 inch flex fan AND an 16 inch electric fan on the radiator. I definately want to keep the engine cool. I also have the TH350...non starter with me, but it was installed already. I am going with a 200r4 I saw on Ebay because I want to go cruising down the highway or wherever without the engine sounding like it is about to come unglued. I called the guy that sells them (in florida, all they do is transmissions) and the one he sells is the exact same dimensions as the TH350 AND with OD, basically a 4 speed. Going with the 550 HP version. Keep us posted

What are you hoping for out of this setup? 1/4? Tell us more about the motor? Looking good Brian. Nice progress.

i hope to get 350+ with a 100 shot of nitrous. most of the parts i put this motor together with i had taking up space in my garage.

i just wanted something i could motor around with..

in the spring i will start a sbc twin turbo project.

corvette ram horn manifolds flipped to the opposite side of the motor with the collectors facing up.
