A very respectable old school performer imo. 2.2L with similar torquey characteristics as a G54b
Totally stock 7.8:1 89 motor. Tuned via HKS Fcon/oe ecu. Pump gas + alchol injection
oh, he did mention switching to a fel-pro head gasket + reuse stock bolts. Says oe gasket sux
Holset HX35 turbo in machined 0.63 T3 exhaust housing, on custom manifold..... excellent street response
dynoed 428whp/470tq @26psi, then 486whp/543tq @30psi = Hella impressive to me

Qualify as a good SQ swap candidate, as done in some mazda B2200 pickups
Same guy, Ademan actually posted his F2t swapped AE86 on corolla forums years back

Ridden in both back in the day.  I liked the Mazda, not like the Starion torque feel, but fun. Down side, FWD.

2.2L oem head gasket failing under boost.... could be an oem "overboost fuse".
F2t is a reliable, rugged, very ez to work on timing belt motor
what stands out to me, is that example is bone stock, 0.4L smaller and piggyback tuned
Puts out stronger torque than a comparable hp G54..... which are mpi converted + standalone tuned + cam
Mazda engineered: 3 valve per cylinder + a wierd dual plate progressive throttle body + tiny VJ11 oem turbo = for torque
Curious what that stock 2.2L would do adding: standalone + conventional throttle body + valvesprings
That example is already flirting with 600 ft-lbs torque, via a $150 used Holset turbo! Good stuff
