well I'll be DAMNED

that explains ALOT - every day I've been having to d/c my negative terminal. I leave my car connected overnight and the next morning it'll be dead - I'm saying this because I know my ETACS unit is acting up - its why whenever I lock my doors I d/c my batt, if I dont, whenever I do open the door the alarm goes off. And will then continue to do so forever in a day after everytime I open the door

I suppose the easy way to check would be to look at the part number on your etacs, and never buy any that had the bad part number, whatever that part number is

someone said if the alarm goes off you can't start the car, I know the first day I had my 87 I locked the car with the window rolled down and when I came back I reached in and unlocked the door and the alarm went off, a security guard in the building I worked in came to the underground garage and stared at me, I told him I just got it and didn't know what to do, I started the car up and drove off with the horn honking lol it was funny, I thought what a useless alarm

I will tell you if this was the problem.

Like I said I have never been able to track down what always pull juice from my battery.

I literally checked everything out, no voltage draws, rewired everything, cleaned every terminal, ground, 110amp alternator and never did cure it.

You might have just cured my 15 year problem I have had!

Gunna check it out soon to see...

Thanks a ton John for the lead!!

EDIT -

I also have a July of 1986 build so bingo I think you found it John!!
