  1. Thank you for the rapid reply. I PM'd 4cylfury, but couldn't find the usernames "Texans" or "Phinko" but I will keep trying to find them.
  2. Hi Everyone, I would like your advice. In short, I would like to find a kick-tail performance shop near me or hire one of your starquest gurus to help make my dream car. I am located just North of Boston and I am willing to bring the car wherever. I am a new proud owner of a 1989 Conquest SHP. The car is in great shape, and the engine was just rebuilt about 300 miles ago but it was before I owned it so I can not speak to the quality of the rebuild. This is my second conquest and for this car, I want it to be my dream car hahaha. Only problem is that I am a hack and don't have the time, skills or equipment to do it the right way. I know enough to be danergous and have taken apart just about every piece of automotive technology. It is the putting it back together step that sometimes gets ugly. Anyway, here is the punchlist. I am hoping this will be a good opportunity for someone who loves working on these cars to have some fun and put some good money in their pocket. Jay's Punchlist: -Replace existing suspension with D2 coilovers all around. I already bought the D2 package and they are sitting in my house in the unopened box. The welding part of the install terrifies me. haha -Turn the 100% stock setup into something that can lay down ~350HP while maintaining the mitsu turbo 4. In other words, dropping in a GM small-block is not something I want. I realize there any many different ways to get there, but I am leaving this intentially open for debate so my own foolish ideas will not cloud thr best path. -Upgraded drivetrain in order to handle the new power Today is May 1st, and I would like to get started on this immediately. I am a laid back easy going guy and many of my auto builds have taken years to complete. This one however, I want done immediately and as fast as possible because I seriously can't wait to drive my dream car any longer haha. dspan@yahoo.com Thanks for your time, Jay
  3. Hi Everyone, I have read just about every post on suspension, shocks, struts, etc... and to be honest, I am more confused than I was before I started. I would like to help create a howto for the suspension dummies out there like me. I can rebuild a motor, but I don't really "get" suspensions. My motivation is simple. I have an 89 SHP with a very tired suspension. When it comes to suspension work, I take may car to a dealership or suspension shop. I tried a couple different shops and one dealership and they all told me they couldn't help because couldn't find parts. So here is what I need and with help I will create a howto for others in the same situation. 1.) To replace entire suspension, buy A, B, and C. You can get various options from website X, Y or Z. 2.) Put car on lift, remove A, B, and C. 3.) Install X, Y, Z. 4.) Get alignment. I will do all the work on my car, take lots of photos and document the whole process in detail. I just need help getting started, especially with step 1. Thank you in advance for anyone that can help get me rolling on this project.
  4. 89 SHP with dead radio please help Haha
  5. Still searching guys. I am a serious buyer with cash in hand and not looking to lowball anyone. I can't stop thinking about my old quest. I am looking forward to participating in the club, I just need ummm... ah... a car! Hahaha.
  6. I searched but can't find any conquest/starion on las vegas CL. Are you sure it is still there somewhere?
  7. Looking to restore some old memories. I finally have the perfect empty garage spot and means to give a Starion a great home. Willing to pay top dollar for a perfect match. I sold my Starion 18 years ago and have never stopped thinking about it, hahah. I can remember the sound, smell, feel of the turbo spooling... Help me out folks. WTB Starion - 88 Black on Black, Low Miles, SHP, Manual
