16.44 in the quarter shame....

and rolled 100,000 on the way home

next on the mod list are

rebuilt and ported tb (at least a little)

ported intake

port the head and replace the valves as im pretty sure theyre orriginal and some clean ones are in order

exhaust has already been gasket matched

but the turbo was untouched so port that some too

add a manual boost controller and run about 14 psi with headstuds

im hoping with all that i should be at least breaking 14's

  • 4 weeks later...

15.4 I think was fastest time for a stock 88-89

Depends on his year model...could be an 87 running only 7ish psi

Either way with your mod list...I would think just a turbo upgrade would be wayyy more beneficial and easier to do.

Get like a 14b and hit like 15psi with it. 14's.

If you are looking solely for better track times at a drag strip, your first mod should be slicks and a spare set of rear wheels to mount them on. With worn street tires I managed 14.2 @ 100mph with the 12a. 3" exhaust, 16-17psi and a heavy duty clutch.
