Anyone know where to get a replacement bushing?? Been searching for a few days and haven't really found anything. Might try to make one out of a nylon bushing from ace but would buy a good replacement if available. Please let me know!

Thanks in advance,

I got one from Moohkee a few weeks ago, contacted him through ebay. He's SLOW to respond to messages, but will get back to you. It was $8 shipped, and it got here quick. The bushing on mine is a tad loose and the guy I bought the shifter from said it had a little buzz at certain rmp's. The new bushing fits exactly like the old one, meaning there's still a little slop in it, so it that's what you're trying to eliminate it may or may not help.

The paypal account is now

Probably the email too.

The mk1 shifter is really a good piece the bushings just suck. Hopefully I'll find a better replacement. I just messaged Tye from GNT to ask if he could make me one so we'll see.. Thanks guys

I have never had my hands on a mookie,,,,,,,,can someone verify the lower shift ball size? that would be a real good start.

I bought my shifter used, and I can't remember if it was the mk1 or stedbani, is there some marking I could look for to identify it? I measured the ball on it and it measures .589" or 14.97mm. If I can confirm the manufacturer, that may be able to help you. lol

I can send you the one I took off of my shifter if that'll help. It's a bit loose on the ball, but I haven't had it installed to see how it fits in the trans. May be possible it needs to bigger on the outside too.

Well. Ours is .690. I have a hunch that the bushing used is similar to ours. That said. In a pic I see of there's, it looks "similar". Do the shifters have a buzz to them fairly new? When you get a new one is that bushing loose already or require some effort to move it? ours are real tight snap fit. Vbrant,,,, did the new one he send you snap on real hard? Edited by wrngwae

Tye the bushings are completely different than the stock ball shaped ones.. There more of a cylinder with a hole through it that rounded inside a bit. Here's some pics for comparison

Hope that helps. And the diameter of the mk1 ball on the end is .46875"

Ah. I see. Unfortunately ours will not fit. the stock little skin if you will may work for a filler for ours but that is not an ideal solution. Sorry guys.

There have been numerous posts on the material mookee used. I just doesn't hold up. I personally wouldn't bother trying to get one from him as it won't last. I'm making one out of a piece of brass piping. Should last forever.

Fit really nice and tight. I hope it won't vibrate too much being metal though. Guess il find out!

Made from a set screw lock collar from ace hardware.. Like $2. Then I drilled/demeled the hole to fit real tight and then ran a bolt through it, put a nut on it, tightened it down, put it in a drill, and used different sand paper and emery cloth to get the OD down to the correct size while running the drill so everything stayed centered. Hope it works out! Will update in a week or two once I get my car running
