This is my 1987 Flatty intercooled with a 5 speed and 5 lug w/LSD swapped out of a 88tsi. Got her running again after some exhaust manifold work so thought I'd share some photos.

Future plans include wideband, safc-ii, fuel system overhaul, and a new coat of paint.

Correction, its an 86 rear end ;) Man I miss that car lol Its definitly in good hands so I'm happy about that. I saw you drive by yesterday, I heard the car and knew it was you before I even saw you. That thing has such a unique tone.... love it BTW, I have a V-AFC if your interested, I know otheres have ran them with success but with my MPI I dont think I'll be needing it any longer.

I was just out for an evening drive, and was actually looking to see if you were out and I have never heard the car drive by because I'm always in seat. BTW the new driveway looks awesome, is it almost ready to get covered in oil stains?

Is the V-AFC a black or a blue unit? I have a line on a black SAFC.

Its one of the silver ones. and nothing I have leaks! lol Well mainly because all the power steering fluid is out of the Yellow car lol Adding that to my winter project list. So you like my new landing strip ehe? The temptation to make my mark with a cuple black marks is a bit overwhelming right now :)

what size tire is on the back and what lowering springs.

nice

Tires are 205/55/R16 with 7" wide wheels, I belive they are a 2" drop on the springs i don't remeber for certain, I'm sure Andy will know and chime in.

Anyhow since I haven't seen the poor girl in 2 weeks I'll post a couple more pics.

are the AREs the same offset as factory Monty? I was not able to fit 8"s in the rear with these springs... although they had 245/45s on them. But rolling the fenders gains loads of room back there if need be. There realy is nothing cooler than a lowered flatty, man i miss that car. lol

i recently bought your cars twin and doing the 5 lug swap also. I was going to use the 5 lug wheels off an 85.5 but after seeing how good your 87 looks on widebody rims this is the route i must take, great pics of a very sweet flatty,im sure Andy is missing his old ride very much.

Good luck on the 5 lug swap, I think the flatties rock on these wheels. Here are a few more pictures of the first time I took the conquest out to the local drags at the airport.

Thats a 90AWD Talon tsi, 93 Talon FWD w/ turbo swap, and the conquest before the races.

Myself and the 93 lining up for my first drag race.

He got me by a car and a half, but I'm gonna blame the driver of my car and a boost leak. Can't wait for spring to run them again.

So the Flatty returns from hibernation tonight. Now she's no WNTRBTR project, but she is in for a few mods in the next week. I hope to update as the mods get completed.

Install Outcast's center console to hold my Turbo timer, AEM Wideband, Prosport fuel & oil pressure gauges, and new radio.

MK1 Short Throw to be installed.

MK1 rear camber plates

I installed Cosmo Coils last summer but I want to reinstall them with the exhaust tubing for shims instead of the o-rings.

home alignment

Powerslot Rotors

Porterfield Pads

SS Lines

Front caliper rebuild kit

New Mitsu Diff, TTube, Trans and Engine mounts

Mitsu Fuel Filter

Build new hard pipes

Different OEM intercooler-mine leaks

Build strut bars

-AN Turbo coolant line

4used-205/55/r16 Bridgestone Pole positions to be mounted.

New to me front seats

Its gonna be a long few weeks.

Ahh so you bought them. Good deal there.

Sounds like I'm going to have my work cut out for me in SM when I start autoxing again. IF your feeling saucy I have steeringboxes from TWIs to throw in your car as well. Complete the transformation 100% then

I am intrigued by the steering box change.....what exactly is the difference?

And BTW I got 102 Auto-x runs in last year :P . Lost the clutch at the last event, otherwise all I broke was an exhaust hanger.

Here's a few shots and some on track vids.

Got the gauges, MK1 short throw and fuel pressure regulator in this weekend. Along with the head unit. diff mounts, torque tube mounts and engine mounts. Went out for a drive and it seems to be lean while cruising and rich when boosting. Got home and I have a number 3 ECU code (MAS) so I'm guessing boost leak. Boost leak test kit will come out tomorrow evening after work.

The car is dirty so please be nice. I haven't had a chance to clean her up inside or out yet.
