The 5GO can be either LSD or NON-LSD
5GO was only offered up to 84-85/5
The 5.1GO is only a NON-LSD and was offered 85/6-87/5 (year/month of production)
Both NON-LSD casting bodies are the same design and narrower in width than the LSD castings.

i know this post is very old but no sense starting a new one for some of the same questions. i havent had a chance to truly inspect the diff in the car but i noticed while pulling the gas tank tonight that there was a sticker on the diff that said 4D i believe and it had the warning sticker about adding limited slip additive but its worn and couldnt read it all.
where is the tag located that would identify the rear end?

I remember being told by so many all us diffs were 8". I'd love for someone to truely confirm an 84 or 83 lsd is actually a 7.5. If so, then that is the lsd to have to fit the fire arrow, or challenger/sapporo/scorpion/lambda rear end.
I would also like to know this info. I picked up a great condition Sapporo and well after waking the old carburetor up it is a one wheel peel wonder.
Anyone on here still around???
