  1. I have for sale a use set of Pauter Rods for a G54b. the rods are from a previous setup I had, I have gone a different direction and no longer need. Price is $700 I am having trouble adding pictures so her s the link to see them. https://www.flickr.com/photos/67549949@N03/19782408866/in/album-72157655980882516/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/67549949@N03/19187688753/in/album-72157655980882516/
  2. The auto tunnel need little to no modification to house a T56 I had a 87 manual and I had to raise the front of the tunnel about 3 1/2 inches and taper towards the back just behind the shifter location in order for the engine to sit flat in the bay. And even with that the reverse switch had to be mod and some ears of the tranny remove to get it to fit. With the mod you have mod the dash center brackets to get it fit properly.
  3. The project looks great. What are you doing with the tunnel to accommodate the T56 size?
  4. I have 8 RC 550cc injector pm me if interested I"ll give you a good price.
  5. I have the driver and passenger side complete let me know
  6. I have a brand new set of the 450lb front and 350lb rears springs only for cheap if you still need I ended using the adjustment collar for another project.
  7. I have being able to fit multiply 4 inch speakers into the dash from Focal 3way, Matts 3 ways and ADS three ways, however for the left speaker you will have to modify the air duct and remold it back or use aluminum AC tape to reseal it. It is not and easy task and is best done with the dash remove. It you can get a good quality 4 inch up there for mid range it improve the staging significantly. Good luck.
  8. It is funny to see how some are starting to see how members here don't want to pay for quality and bash when you try to help them to improve on performance.
  9. Why can't people here be more supportive and be willing to learn of what others are doing to improve the g54b performance and reliability. In long term there could be may more powerful g54 running around thus increasing the value of our car. In my opinion and experience here most have never done, too scared to try something new or don't have the means to do it. All they do is knock it down when other try to be different and when others succeed they all want to know how to do it. Why then will one want to share what they have done with the community if during the process they had no support. Good luck with your build I feel your pain as in pass I have experience the same.
  10. Thanks for cleaning up and removing the aggression and negativity, In my opinion I understand Tim concern to protect the members of this board from being cheated, however giving his comment and PM sent to me and his decision to close the tread and telling me not to relist my parts or head and sell them somewhere else clearly show it is more about attacking and trying to discredit what I have accomplish what so many would love to do and simply dont know how or willing to invest the funds in the R&D. Hopefully as I provide additional picture here and try to answer any question or concern to potential buyers the best I can this will go smoothly. I have only seen one other here that have knife edge a g54 crank and to the best of my knowledge not sure if the project has been completed. If anyone has driven a g54 with a lighten crank will greatly appreciate it responsiveness to rev comparable if not better than a 4g63 as oppose to the laziness of how a none lighten crank g54 rev. Everyone who have heard the setup rev sore it was a 4g63 in the car until they saw it was not. I will take some additional picture of the top of the pistons, rod bearings, rods and crank. I will then clean up the piston and retake pictures. I chose to list everything the way it was dissemble not misleading anyone with clean up. I had this sitting for a long time debating to sell the setup or not, as the similar 2.8l rod journals are different to the stock g54b rod journal and if anything should ever go wrong with the 2.8 I could easily and less expensive put together another g54 setup keeping all my external component as appose doing a motor swap with a built engine thus taking away from the originality of the Starquest and keeping cost down between new custom intake and exhaust manifold, new t56 bell housing, mounts pluming new engine harness for ECU and the list go on. I am not an engine builder or machinist I simple hire the best to build what I want and I do the installation myself, I tend not to follow the norm and do things one away creating originality and difference. All I can simple do is mic everything and give the spec to the bet I can, giving my schedule and the holiday I will try to get pictures as soon as I can, I am not new to the performance world and powerful reliable daily driver or weekend cars I have been doing it for over 30 years . Those who know me and have seen and driven my collection can vouched for my integrity, attention to quality and detail. I currently have a 600whp TSI daily driver running strong since 1998 and a twin turbo E34 M5 S38 my pride and joy, I tune for reliability and longevity and not max power. Shooting for max power verses longevity in my opinion cannot justify the cost blowing things up, trying to prove who is the king of the hose power war, because there is always someone who will be better it all depends on how deep your pocket is and the knowledge and experience behind the project.
  11. Hi guys my intension here is not to mislead anyone, the reason the whole assembly is not for sale there was an issue with one of the oring of the block, the block ending up being damage on one cylinder while removing the oring. Which was a concern and chose not to to use or include. If it make everyone happier I just use the term balance rotation assembly, the amount of money and research that went into building the engine and setup If I had kept the setup I would have ask top dollars for the complete setup which people here have no understanding for what it cost and how to get the g54b to make reliable power. This is not a discussion tread so I don't need to be in discussion with anyone so please leave your negative comments to yourself. The starquest is one of the few cars which has very little after market support because everyone who has ever try to do anything with these car all everyone especially at this site ever do is create negativity around it. What I have done with this motor and this car 15 to 20 years ago most only dream or still trying to do today. Any engine builders and a good machinist here should know the level or work and knowledge that went into knife edging the crank to what youall see here. In my opinion the setup is price very reasonable and yes I would definitely recommend the purchaser to take it a reputable machine shop to have it check and balance before reassembling.
  12. Hi all I have a complete rotation assemble with stock bore and compression JE piston Pauter forge rods and a knife edge crank, the crank oil feed has being improve to increase the oil feed for the main and rod bearing. The piston rings and rod bearings will be included. This rotation assemble has less than 8k miles on the setup the knife edging of the crank was 4.8lbs weight saving over the stock crank, to the best of my knowledge the main and rod journal is standard I can measure and provide the information as soon as I can get to it. I am switching to a 2.8l similar setup and no longer need. I don't want to separate the rotation assemble as I have spent a lot to have it done and prefer to keep it as a complete rotating assemble. I am asking for $1250 for the set up firm. If anyone is interested for the rods and pistons the price is $950 and the crank by itself is $500. The set up previously made over 400whp and 430tq @ 20lbs it was a weekend end car which had a Top End Performance none jet valve head and Schneider 284h cam with their race port and 1mm oversize stainless steel intake and exhaust valves. The head will is also coming up for sale. The motor was dissemble due to a blown head gasket as there was an issue to the oring of the block. The block got damage while replacing the oring and since I already had a similar 2.8l in the works I decided to not proceed to rebuilding the 2.6 setup. I have being debating of selling the setup for quite a while and keep as a backup measure to the 2.8l setup. Please PM me with interest.
