RESISTOR CHECKS OUT... 6 OMS. ( ALUM BOX BY AIR CAN.)...ON PAGE 14- 42 IN FSM....ECU INJECTORS WIRES ON BLUE PLUG # 10 AND #12 BACK PROBED YEL/BLUE YEL/BLACK.... NO GROUND SIGNAL WHEN CRANKING....DO I ALL SO HAVE TO CHECK CONTROL RELAY ?? PG 14-43 ..... OR IS ECU BAD??

CAN METAL BOX BY COIL THAT SENDS SIGNAL GO BAD??

Did you make sure the RPM signal wire to the ecu from the ignitor is intact? How are you checking for "ground signal"? Where are you meter leads hooked up and what readings are you getting?

Look at professor quest site SFBMX88 or anybody ... . At TB section..... Shows a 86 TB in the first pics (4 vac ports ) and than scoll down and it shows TB for 87-89 only (3 vac ports) Does the 4 port above number 3 vac port go to boost senser above brake booster ??....Battery cable ground wire has been cut off to short to connect to proper e bolt battery spot !!!!, So someone drilled a hole farther up on fender well inside and put a bolt threw for new ground with no eyelet ground wire underneath.!!!!. (look at site u can see ground wire under battery cable e bolt !! ) I have to find my spare battery cable to replace....Need to clean all the grounds that are shown on TB section on professor quest site.. Will try tomorrow to get things sorted out!!! Can that metal box 1/2 by 1 1 /2 long that sends signal to ECU go bad or control relay above ECU.??..What sensor plug goes in bracket on top of TB...their none on mine!!!. 86 has plug bracket on top of TB and 87 -89 don't have plug bracket on top..(does it have something to do with ISC nose switch ..?? ) Does 86 have that plug that goes to nothing ?? like 87-89 yellow with green stripe to 2 pronged plug...........Have 3 main plugs..... 1 from diss to harness..2 from TPS to harness...3 from ISC nose switch to harness ... Is their a 4th plug that is missing...Have 2 yel/green wires and 1 yel/white wire.....yel/white goes to CTS senser ...the other 2 yel/ green stripe goes to that extra plug that goes to nothing ??(mine has been cut) ??? Their are 3 black ground wires..1 goes to CTS and 2 goes to ac clutch 3 goes to what ?? Am I missing a plug ??? on top of TB??

there is no 1 inch to 1 1.5" metal box in the ign system the ign fire trigger signal comes from igniter (knock box) and goes to the ecu by way of a white wire , the igniter connector has 2 white wires one runs to the coil neg terminal( also to the tach ) and one to the ecu

I'm wondering if you don't have a ballist resistor mounted on the coil if so remove it,, our system

must see full 12 volts

SHELBY ..I.have fixed broken wires with bunt connectors ..I.have checked for connection from engine bay to ecu ..My friend is coming to help, so I can turn engine over and check voltages... only have cheap VOM form HB freight ...just got the right injectors for 86...been working on interer of car to keep things going ...took fuel PSI today 38 PSI..Have put in filter in tank, before pump filter and flushed lines and tank is back in car.. I have rebuilt the 86 TB and put on car ....need pics of 86 TB to look at all connections ..I have 2 86 TB...One has plug clip and one doesn't that's why ive been thinking that im missing a plug??? (clip is on top of isc motor) Edited by markhansenconquest

Does your tach bounch/jump while you're cranking the motor? If not, you've got ignition issues. Either another dead knock box/ignitor, or maybe even the pickup coil inside the distributor. .
