  1. Sure thing. I will take some pictures of a side profile and of the engine mounts. I haven't gotten to drive it too much yet, but the little that I have was awesome. It actually feels pretty well proportioned. The engine pretty much goes from the firewall clear up to the core support.
  2. Thank you. I can't wait to get comfortable with everything and go see what she will do. There will definitely be some good burnout, dyno and other videos coming up It was running awesome, but I think that the water pump went out yesterday (I know, I should have changed it when it was easy). It is time to take care of the misc maintenance things to make sure that I don't blow it up or anything. I have already replaced most of the water lines and changed all of the fluids. I think I will pop in a timing belt and water pump and flush the engine one more time and then get some good miles on her.
  3. I'm a big fan of the Toyota line up as well. I do like how the Nissan engines sound a little deeper. I haven't had any trouble with the CAS yet. Other than being a PITA to wire, is there a disadvantage to using that type of ignition signal that you know of? I have played around with 4 cylinder turbo cars quite a bit (I have a pretty built '93 Eagle Talon TSi that I Auto-X, a stock '90 Talon TSi that I daily drive and have helped on friends Subaru flat 4's and a little on my brothers Ford 2.3 turbo) and I was ready for little more displacement. From the little bit that I have driven it, I really like having the torque available down low and the super quick spool on the turbo.
  4. Thank you. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I didn't really do much research on the swap or the fitment before starting. I just got the front clip and started piecing it together. I have been amazed by how well everything fit in there. The shifter even came out in the right spot. The wiring was hard for me to get my head around because it just looks so bad when you start. There are wires everywhere!!! Once you start tracing things out, there are only a handful that you need to hook up I agree with you though on the redundant part, they seem to just loop around endlessly and go to the same spot.
  5. Exhaust Update - Good news: I got the exhaust built this weekend and it sounds mean!! Bad news: It came out way too low and hits on everything!! I think I will keep it how it is and take it for some test drives to get the bugs worked out and then tweak/rebuild it. I almost had an electrical fire this weekend as well! I forgot to hook up a couple of the ground wires in the engine bay after I finished looming some wires and a couple of the fusible links starting smoking and almost burned out some wiring beneath the fuse box. Luckily, I got it shut down and found the source of the problem before anything bad happened. Anyway, here are some updated pictures. 2.5" to 3" Adapter Off of the Turbo http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Exhaust/961079c5.jpg The LONG Downpipe http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Exhaust/34774fa7.jpg 3" Exhaust Flange - Bolts to Downpipe http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Exhaust/379aeb84.jpg Here is the Completed Rear Section (The main offender of being too low) http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Exhaust/049db1f9.jpg Here is the Rear Section Installed (Sorry for the Poor Quality Pic) http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Exhaust/d0ad0353.jpg
  6. Sorry about that. Is been a while since I pulled it and forgot that they are on opposite sides.
  7. Here is the start of the exhaust. The turbo outlet on the RB ended up lining up perfectly and almost comes out where the factory Conquest exhaust did. I am planning on running 3" from the turbo back to the factory location in the rear bumper. http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Exhaust/78d7b59b.jpg
  8. Here are a couple of pictures of the underside. I had to trim the engine to transmission bracing on the RB25 (both sides) to clear the steering linkage on the Conquest. The stock Conquest engine cross member fit perfectly in the recess in the RB oil pan http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Undercarriage/020214f4.jpg Here is the transmission mounting. I built new mounts off of the Conquest subframe and used the stock RB transmission mount. The fill plug and drain plug are all accessible for service. Also, you can see the custom driveline. It is just the RB and the Quest driveline spliced together. I had a shop in town do the work and balance it. http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Undercarriage/b59307f0.jpg http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Undercarriage/ca51aeda.jpg Here is some of the nightmare wiring mess for the ECU before everything got tied up inside. I cut a new hole in the footwell near the center console to run the main harness through for the RB engine wiring. I was able to use the factory RB grommet for a good seal. You can see the Dakota Digital tach adapter hiding in the wires. I'm glad that in almost finished wiring http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Wiring/Wiringmess.jpg
  9. The piece under the intercooler was my attempt to make a functional mount and air "scoop" to get more flow over the radiator. It ended up hanging down below the bumper and looking terrible. I had to trim it way off to make it work a little better. I will post up some pictures next time I'm at the shop.
  10. Here is a picture of my MAF to turbo intake pipe. I used a small piece off of the stock Skyline piping and made an adapter to go from 2.5" to 3". The rest is built out of 3" mandrel bent exhaust pipe http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Intake%20System/Intakepipeloose.jpg Intercooler Piping and a shot of the intake tube installed http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Intake%20System/ICPipingwintake.jpg Here is the front mount intercooler installed and the piping finished. It is a "JDM Sport" intercooler off of Ebay. http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Intake%20System/FrontMountAngleShot.jpg More pics to come...
  11. Thanks for the nice support everybody. I am getting all of my pictures together right now and will get them up as soon as possible. I built the flange for the downpipe this weekend and will hopefully have the exhaust finished up by the end of this weekend. I was planning on having more progress, but ended up swapping an engine in my brother's new Galant VR-4.
  12. Hey everyone. I have been working on swapping a Series 1 RB25DET out of an R33 Skyline into my 1987 Chrysler Conquest and finally got her running! I got a good deal on Ebay on a front clip and had most everything that I needed. I fabbed and welded all of the engine and transmission mounts myself and just completed the wiring. I have one video of the second start and drive on Youtube and I thought you all might want to check it out. I will post up some more videos as I have time. Everything was still pretty rigged up in the engine bay when the first video was taken. Since then, I have gotten the factory Conquest gauges wired up and working (minus speedo) and have cleaned up most all of the wiring in the engine bay with loom, etc. I also added an "Ebay special" front mount intercooler as I could not get the factory R33 sidemount to fit anywhere. I am currently finishing the exhaust (straight piped 3" turbo back) and putting the interior back together and finishing up the miscellaneous stuff that keeps coming up. I have the P/S working and I am trying to make the A/C work as well. It is mainly being built for drifting in a few local events and also as a fun couple days a week driver. Let me know what you all think! Here is the link to the video. http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/251dffff.jpg http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/c963488d.jpg http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/85ac9c50.jpg http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/minitrucker96/RB25DET%20Starion/Starion%20Intake%20System/3bc23187.jpg
